Over the years I had lost touch with the Irish coven, so somewhere along my travels I met the Olympian coven. I could only stand Carlisle, Esme, Jasper and Emmett, and then Bella came and I knew the trouble she would cause. And then the Volturi guards came after the threat of the newborns. Felix had smirked at me confusing the others. “Hello again Nicolas.”
“Felix, it is a pleasure as always.”
“Don't flatter us Nicolas I know your still annoyed that I framed you for the murder of the hotel.”
“I have no idea what you mean. But you care to introduce me to the others.”
He scowled within annoyance before turning to the girl. “This is Jane, her brother Alec and then Demitri is in blue.” I nodded to his words before Alec spoke. “Your the hybrid that saved Aro's life aren't you?”
“Yes. Tell me how is Aro?”
“He's fine.”
“That's good to here. Although tell him I apologise greatly for not visiting.”
Felix nodded weakly before Jane got down to business and upon watching Alec in caution I soon zoned back in. “The Volturi don't give second chances. Felix.” My gaze snapped to Felix but he shoved past me as Bella met my gaze frowning. And as her screams grew silent I turned to Jane. “I'll see you four around.” Felix squeezed my shoulder then before I grabbed his wrist. 'Protect Alec. Allow him to flea Volterra if he must. What I've seen is bad.'
The other three and the Cullens frowned as Felix eyes went from purple to red in a matter of minutes. “Why do you care?”
“La tua cantante.” Felix bowed his head before the four fled and when I followed the others I ignored Edward's stare. “Why can't I read your mind?”
“Because I shielded you.”
“And your power is magic in general?”
“Yes.”
“And you know Felix and Aro how?”
“You do ask a lot of questions don't you?”
I walked away then as Carlisle came out followed by Bella shortly and upon us heading home I soon stopped as I saw a wounded Alec and Felix holding him up. “Help us, a shifter bit him and there's this strange affect.” I grabbed Alec then and took him to my room as the others followed and Carlisle told the masters, who were on their way.
“Help me with his cloak and shirt. He has a fever.”
Felix did so in that moment and upon summoning some bowl of water and a cloth I placed it to Alec's forehead ignoring the poison that spread upon the bite on his side and the bite upon the left side of his shoulder and collarbone. “I need everyone out.”
Everyone left in that moment before I began healing him, ignoring his screams and thrashes as he tried to break free and when the days faded by and the poison left, all that we saw was the faint scars and my tribes brand.
“I know that symbol Jacob said it was of then tribe that died centuries ago.”
“I was there Swan! You don't need to remind me of painful memories.” Edward snarled before I did the same only to be cut off by Alec.
“Nicolas.”
I turned to Alec checking his wounds before noticing a third upon his wrist and upon healing that despite the hunger I soon found his fever grew worse. “Something's not right.”
My fingers sparked with magic before Alec arched his back, his scream silent as I stopped over his heart. “Alec will not wake until he is ready, but the fever will die shortly.”
“What is that suppose to mean? That my brother won't wake until he is ready?!”
“Jane you and Alec are a few centuries older than me. Your brother is tired of fighting, tired of living. Allow him some rest. We do have eternity of this curse.”
She nodded sadly before sitting down as Bella frowned at me, meeting my gaze once again. “It's not all its cracked up to be. Enjoy being human for a little while.”
“Aren't you half human?”
“No. I'm just the definition of a monster. Jane I'll be going for a hunt, call me if you need me.”
Jane nodded weakly before I took one last look at Alec and ran off...
