Hannah
I'm sitting in the bathroom next to my best friend staring at the small stick with two solid blue lines on it.
"I-I'm pregnant..?" I manage to whisper.
"We'll figure this out. We always figure everything out." Emily wraps her arms around me.
"I had sex once." I can feel tears start to spill out of my eyes.
"Han, everything is going to me okay. I promise." She rubs my back.
"Hannah! Emily! Dinner is ready!" I hear my mom call from downstairs.
"I can't face her right now." I pull away from Emily.
"You have to. It's your mom, she'll know what to do." She stands up, holding out her hand to me.
"Will you tell her with me?" I take her hand, letting her pull me up.
"Of course, is that even a question?" She opens up the door and we head downstairs.. Once we get downstairs I see my mom, my younger sister, and my younger brother. My twin brother is missing.
"Are you crying?" Henry, my younger brother, asks me.
"No. Shut up." I sit next to Haley, my younger sister.
"Hannah!!" Hayden, my twin, comes running down the stairs holding something in his hand. I wait for him to expose me, but he doesn't.
"Did you use my headphones?" He holds up the white packaging, surprising me.
"U-uh yeah. Sorry." I stutter. I feel Emily relax next to me, being as nervous as I am.
After Dinner
Emily went home after we all ate and I decided to go to my room and be alone for a while. Once I get up there, I check my phone since I left it up here. I have five missed calls and 20 texts from him. The only guy I've ever had sex with. My brothers best friend, Caleb. After the 911 text I decide to call him back.
"Han?" He answers sounding worried.
"Yeah..?" I basically whisper.
"Are you okay?" He still sounds worried.
"Yeah?" It comes out as more of a question.
"No you're not. I'm coming over." He states.
"Hayden is here." I tell him. We've been secretly dating for about three months now. If Hayden knew he would kill both of us. He told all of his friends that I am off limits.
"I'll park a few houses down. Please, I need to see you." He pleads.
"Why did you text and call so many times?" I ignore him.
"I got the feeling that something was wrong. When you didn't answer I almost came to your house. I'm really worried about you." His voice sounds weak.
"I'll meet you at the park down the street from school in 20." I say, trying not to let him hear how upset I am.
"Please just let me come get you. It's almost dark, I don't want you walking that far alone." I hear a knock on my bedroom door.
"Fine, just text me when you're a few houses down. I have to go." I hang up quickly as Hayden opens my door.
"Who was that?" He walks in.
"Someone from school." I shrug.
"What's wrong?" He sits on my bed next to me.
"What?" I look over at him.
"Come on, you're my twin. I know when something is bothering you." His blue eyes stare back at mine.
"I just don't feel too good." It's not a complete lie. I really feel like I want to die.
"Promise that's it?"
"I promise" I lie to my twin for the first time. I feel my phone vibrate on my leg after about ten minutes of talking to Hayden. It's Caleb telling me he's here.
"I have to go.I'm meeting my friend somewhere." I get up, leaving him on my bed.
"Can we have a twin night when you get home?" He gets up too.
"Yeah sure." I leave him in my room. I run past my mom, yelling some shitty excuse. When I get to our normal meet up spot, I see Caleb sitting in his truck. I open the passenger door and get in.
"You were crying." He looks at my face.
"What?" I look away from him.
"I've known you my whole life. I know what you look like when you were crying." He gently grabs my chin and makes me look at him.
"I wasn't.." I don't even convince myself.
"Han, come on. Please talk to me." He looks hurt.
"I don't know what you want me to say.." I shrug.
"Are you breaking up with me..?" His hand drops from my face. I stay silent and he grabs my hand.
"Baby please don't. I can fix whatever is bothering you. If it's Hayden I'll talk to him and make him okay with us. I love you Hannah. You're my everything." He says it for the first time.
"I'm not breaking up with you." I keep my eyes locked on his hand, which is gripping mine in my lap.
"Then what's wrong? You're killing me." His voice sounds relieved but still worried.
"I can't tell you." I whisper.
"Yes you can. Did you not just hear me? I love you. You can tell me anything." The worry gets even thicker.
"No you don't." I roll my eyes.
"Yes I do, more than anything. Hannah you're all I think about. I've loved you forever." His grip tightens.
"I'm pregnant."
