8. Mystic Tree House

Jiae's POV

I see bright light not far from where I'm standing. I must be near to the tree house.

I walked again until my bare eyes could see a ladder hanging from the top of a tree. I looked up and it's tree house. Finally. My heart skipped a beat because of satisfaction.

I climbed up the ladder until I reached the top where the tree house is.

I opened the door in front of me and it revealed a huge room full of books in the shelves. There are also small study tables, a full-length mirror on the side of one of the shelves and at center stands a medium-sized table with a large book on top of it.

I walked to that table and opened it and to my surprise, it flipped pages by itself. It stopped when its at the center page with bright light on its paper. There floated a silver necklace with a green gem pendant attached on it.

"This must be the Gem of Time." I thought. I was amazed by the glow of the gem. Its greenish glow captivates I eyes, tempts me to touch it.

The goal of the challenge is to take the Time stone and make it out of the forest in no time. I was hesitating of taking it at first after I took a deep breath, I took the courage to hold it and took it.

I'm finally holding it. Looking closely to it, I really wanna keep it and cherish it.

The enchanted book where the gem came from closed itself. I wore the necklace around my neck and went out the tree house. Down I go the ladder, I reached the ground of the forest with withered leaves laying. Earlier, I lay sticks on the ground while walking so I can trace my way back to the garden. But it must be destroyed when I encountered a werewolf. Or maybe the arrows could help me.

I followed the sticks leading me to the garden. On my way back, I hear small, evil laughs around me.

I avoided myself to be scared but its no use. Fear flowed through my whole body as the laughs continue to go on.

This place gives me goosebumps. This place creeps me out that my whole body is shaking. My legs are feeling weak.

"*evil laugh* Where do you think you're going, my friend?" A creature said with a small yet creepy voice then laughed again.

"Whoev--whatever you are, don't come anywhere near me! I'll fight you!" I tried to threaten it but it only made the creature laugh again. Until when will its laugh end? Its laugh is getting in my nerves.

Ok, I admit its laugh creeps me out but it also irritates me.

"Look behind you, little one." It said with creepy voice. I fearfully and hesitantly looked behind me. There I saw a tiny flying creature with a creepy wide smile. I put on my brave face but deep inside, my heart beats rapidly. Thinking of what this evil fairy would do to me.

"W-what a-are you t-tr-trying to d-do with m-me?" Aish. My voice gave in. It obviously showed fear.

"You know, for a weak person like you, you shouldn't be here. Because we hate intruders in our territory." The fairy said in small tone.

"I'm not intruding your place." I said in a straight sentence.

"Really? *scoffs*. THEN WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO, MAGI?!!! I've taken aback by her loud shout. She shouted so madly. Her face was near mine. This really scares me to death! I can't even utter a word. Even just a gasp.

"You see, a thousand years ago, the King and Queen agreed to the counsel to isolate every mystic beings and put them in the center of the forest." She explained and I listened.
