I wake up to the sound of my moms sweet voice, " Miranda get up you have school." False she was actually yelling at me. Groaning I kick off the covers and stomp to the bath room.

"Oh look the troll finally awoke from her cave," my annoying 15 year old sister Hannah says. She was in the bathroom straightening her hair.

"Shut up you little bitch," I yell at her. I'm guessing you can tell I'm not a morning person.

"Miranda watch your damn mouth," My mom shouts from downstairs.

"Well shit she heard me," I mumble to myself.

Hannah laughs at me as she finishes straightening hair medium length brown hair. Rolling my eyes I brush my teeth. Me and Hannah are pretty close when we're not fighting. We don't look to much alike she takes more of her dads looks, while I take mine. Hannah has brown hair, brown eyes, and lightly tanned skin. On the other hand I have blonde hair, blue eyes, and pale skin.

Arriving at school I go and meet up with Makaila and Isabel. They are some cool gals. We are like sisters if anything. Makaila has black hair, brown eyes, and a light mocha complexion. Isabel has blonde hair, light green eyes, with a sun kissed completion. "Hey whores," I say as I walk up to them.

"Hey Makaila isn't a whore," Finn says defensively in a high squeaky voice. He has curly dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, and pale skin with freckles everywhere.

"Finn you take everything so seriously," Makaila tells him with a light shake of her head.

"No I don't," Finn said pouting.

"You're lucky I love you," Makaila told him as a smile formed on her lips. He pulled her in and hugged her tightly. "And I love you too," he mumbled into her shoulder.

Me, Isabel, and Kian just watched the two love birds in disgust. "Well anyway Isabel your looking hot," I say with a smirk.

"Aww.. Daddy you look even hotter," Isabel flirts back.

"What the hell! DADDY? Isabel you don't even call me daddy! Are you serious? Miranda stop flirting with my girlfriend," Kian shouts throwing his hands into the air. He has brown hair, brown eyes, and tan skin.

"It's not my fault Isabel loves me more," I tease.

"Isaaabell," Kian whines.

"Oh, yes dad I love you," Isabel says grabbing me and pulling me into a hug.

"Whatever I'll just go cry in the bathroom," Kian says sighing then walks away.

"You better go get your cry baby," I joke and let go of her.

"Yeah," she says laughing before she chases after him.

Looking over at Makaila and Finn I see them making out, "Get a room you nasties."

I just got out of my last class, walking down the narrow hallway I was stopped in my tracks by Owen. He stood in front of me blocking me from the exit.

"Hey Miranda your looking beautiful today," he said checking me out.

"Thanks Owen," I say smiling.

"So I was wondering if you wanted to hang out sometime?" You could see the hope in his eyes. No matter how many times I turned him down he keeps coming back. I'm flattered yes but it gets annoying.

"Owen.." I started but was cut short by Makaila.

"Sorry Owen but we have to get going," Makaila says with a fake smile plastered on her face as she then proceeds to grab me by my arm and pull me outside.

"Bye," Owen called out as the doors shut behind us.

"You're a life savor," I tell Makaila pulling her into a side hug.

"I know I am." She says with a little wink.

We then got in her car and she drove me home. It was a silent drive except for the faint sound of City Boy playing in the back ground. Finn is in a band called Calpurnia, they're pretty good. So far they only have two songs released one Greyhound and the other City Boy. As far as I know they haven't gotten completely noticed but that doesn't matter because he has us to listen to the music.

"How's your mom," Makaila asks breaking the silence.

"She's hanging in there as you know treatment is very expensive so shes still working to pay the bills and stuff, but every time I get paid we always get in a fight. She doesn't like me giving her money especially when she doesn't know how I'm getting it," I said looking down at my finger nails. I hate talking about stuff that goes on in my life. I just feel like a burden.

"I'm sorry I know it's tuff, but why don't you just tell her the job you have so she doesn't have to stress," Makaila glances at me a look of concern flashed in her eyes.

"What so I can give her a heart attack? You want me to just go up to her and say, 'Hey mom by the way I have phone sex with guys and that's how I'm getting the money,' like bitch I think the fuck not," I explain dramatically. "Just the other week she asked me if I was selling drugs," A light chuckle escaped my lips as I remembered how serious my mom looked when she asked me.

"Okay, okay I get it maybe that's not the best idea," Makaila said laughing.

"You want me to die huh," I ask shaking my head as a smile forms.

"Maybe," she replies with a mischievous smile.

Shortly after we arrive at my house, "Bye Love you even though you tryna kill me," I say getting out of the car.

"Love you too," she says smiling before driving off.

I watched for a few moments as she drove down the road and made a turn, disappearing. Turning around I stare at my plain white house, the garden was dying and the grass wasn't as green as it could have been. With my mom working and going to treatment and me taking care of the inside of the house there was no time to go outside and water or take care of weeds. The only time it gets watered is when the sprinklers go off. It wasn't the best looking two story house but it was my home.

As I waked to the front door I could hear the grass crunching under my feet. Putting my key in I unlocked the front door. Walking inside I set my backpack on the ground and make my way to the kitchen. What I saw before my eyes took my breath away, my heart literally dropped.

"Mom," I yell running to her. She was laying on the ground her body looked lifeless.

"Mom wake up! It's okay I'm here now," I plea next to her. Tears burned my eyes as I checked to see if she was still breathing. A sigh of relief escaped my lips as I felt her heart beating under my hand.

Looking at her I see that she has a lump on her head. I'm guessing she must of fell and hit her head which could of caused her to go unconscious. Getting up I go and get a wet wash cloth to lay on her head, I'm hoping it will help wake her up. Kneeling beside her I place it on her head and shake her lightly, "Mom wake up," I tell her softly.

She started to move around a little bit before her eyes opened. "Oh thank God you scared me," I say relieved.

"I'm sorry," She croaked out.

"What happened mom? I thought I almost lost you," I ask concerned.

"I'm not sure, I just remember coming home and walking to the kitchen. Then all of a sudden I felt light headed and out of breath. I think when I tried to grab the edge of the counter to steady myself, my hand must of slipped causing me to hit my head," she said touching her forehead where the lump was.

"Well let's get you to bed and I'll make you something to eat," I said helping her get up.

"What did I do to deserve such a good daughter like you?" Tears coated her eyes as a smile graced her lips.

And that's the end of chapter 1. Vote or your gonna be cursed :)
