Remember, chapter marathon!!
Fisher looked around the classroom at the faces staring at him. "What's going on?"
"We're having a meeting," Jenna stood up and walked over to him. The blank look on her face sent shivers down Fisher's spine. "Come," she held his arm. "I'll help you sit down."
He flinched at sound of Mason shutting the door. Something didn't feel right. Mason stuck a chair under the door. "What the hell is going on?" Fisher looked around again.
Brody buried his face in his hands. "I'm asking them the same damn question."
"What?" Charlie turned back to him. "Do you have a bar appointment you need to get back to?" He chuckled and turn to Jenna for support.
"That's not funny," she shook her head sitting on the teacher's desk. "Look, we need to get started. Fisher, please, sit down."
"Get started," Fisher shrugged. "Get started on what-"
"Fisher," Charlotte slapped the desk in front of her, "sit the f*ck down!"
Fisher furrowed his brows then he walked over to the desk in front of her.
"No where near me," Charlotte turned away," please."
Fisher looked at her then he walked over to the desk beside Brody. He sat down on top of it.
"So," Jenna grabbed her notebook, "everyone's here."
Fisher looked around. "Poppy's not. Or Liam."
"They would never agree to what we're doing here."
"And what might that be-"
"They're blackmailing us, buddy," Mason folded his arms.
"Blackmailing us?" Fisher gulped. "Into doing what?"
Jenna sighed. "Throwing away all of your religious bull for a night."
"What do you-"
"I'm not doing this," Brody shook his head.
"She has footage of you with a minor," Charlotte folded her arms. "You're doing this."
Fisher turned to Brody. "You're...you're a-"
"I'm not," Brody shook his head. "Charlotte...she...I-"
"Sadie has things on most of you in this room," Jenna tilted her head. "She has footage of Brody with Charlotte, you and Mason being accomplices in her assault on Poppy, and Charlie's drug dealing book-"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Brody looked at Charlie. "You're a drug dealer?"
Charlie shrugged. "Who are gonna tell? We had to sneak you in through the window because you're banned from this place."
Brody sat back in his chair and groaned. "This school." He pointed at each of them. "I'm done with each and every one of you after this little set up you have here is done-"
Jenna snorted and shook her head. "No you're not."
"For the last time," Fisher shouted, "what's this about? I know it's about revenge but what kind of revenge?" Fisher looked down at the floor. "Because we can't turn her in to the cops or most of us are going to prison so...," Fisher furrowed his brows, "the only other option is...," he looked at Jenna. He chuckled and shook his head. "No," he pointed at her. "N-n-n-n-no, this is a joke. You guys are joking, right?"
Brody put two and two together. "I'm out," he stood. "I'd rather go to jail."
"Fine," Charlotte unlocked her phone. "I'll just show the cops this." She lifted her phone.
They all turned to her screen.
Brody's face went pale.
Charlotte's face began to knot as if she were about to cry. "Yes, officer," she pointed at him. "That man right there-"
"YOU'RE JUST AS SICK AS SADIE," he shouted, his voice cracking from tears. "If you think for a second I'm going to let you blackmailing me into doing a bigger crime than getting drunk and kissing you, then you've got the wrong guy-"
"You don't have to do it," Charlotte shut her phone off. She looked at Fisher. "Fisher has to."
Fisher furrowed his brows. "You can't be serious-"
"You nearly killed me," Charlotte shouted.
Fisher turned to her feeling his heart in his head. "H-how did you-"
"Mason. Sadie told him. Thought it was a funny joke to share that you almost killed her best friend because you had a childish crush on me."
"I didn't have a childish crush on you, Charlotte. I was in love with you."
Charlotte held her breath.
Fisher shook his head. "But you're right... It was childish. I thought you were different from Sadie. Turns out you're just as bad as her-"
"We're making the world a better place," Jenna got down from the desk. "With one less Sadie in the world to influence little girls to slut shame and hate, we will have a better future-"
"Jenna," Brody put his hands on his head,"taking God's job of punishing bad people into your hands isn't securing anyone's future-"
"You told me yourself at the party, sometimes we're the miracle that needs to happen. Sadie needs to go."
Tears filled Brody's eyes. "You're children," he shook his head. "You shouldn't be thinking like this-"
"You didn't think I was a child the night of the party," Charlotte tilted her head. "Brody, all you have to do is lure her here. We'll handle the rest."
"If I lure her here, the cops will know that I'm involved-"
"So, you're on-board-"
"No! I'm just saying, I can't lure her here-"
"She's in love with you," Mason shrugged. "You don't even have to call her. You can drive her here or something."
"I'm not doing it. I'm going to the cops as soon as we're done here-"
"To tell them what?" Jenna titled her head and folded her arms. "That you just came from a meeting with a bunch of high school students who are plotting to kill one of their fellow students? A fellow student who's birthday you attended as a teacher and got drunk at?"
Brody sulked.
"Don't forget the part about statutory rape-"
"I got your point...," Brody suddenly began to whimper.
They all looked at each other feeling sorry for him.
"Look," Jenna jumped down from the desk and walked over to him. "I'm trying to help you. All of you." She touched his shoulder.
He pushed her hand away.
"With Sadie gone, all of this will be in the grave with her. Besides, none of you have a choice. So, please cooperate. We have a month to get ready for this. All we know is that Brody will start by bringing her here and Fisher will finish by killing her."
"Why do I have to kill her?" Fisher frowned still not believing any of what was happening was real.
"Because you deserve to. You're the one's who's been hurt by her the most. We'll be with you. Not in the room...but we'll be with you."
Fisher looked down at his purple ankle.
"Think about it... If you could kill her without having to go to prison...wouldn't you?"
Fisher gulped. "You guys better not stab me in the back-"
"Oh my God," Brody cried putting his hands on his head and rocking back and forth. He clasped his hands and began to pray.
Jenna rolled her eyes. "Pitiful. So...Charlie," Jenna smiled. "Any suggestions?"
