The Garden

I'll wait in the garden ,"said she,."

Her parting words on starry night .

.

"What garden," where must i climb in?"

Said I, in jest , hope soaring bright.

.

But she had  gone, dissolved in the mist,

And left me wondering what I had missed.

.

A garden full with flowers and trees,

Lush green grass, chirping birds, humming bees.

.

Speckled by sunlight, petals and dew,

The love making place just for us two!!

.

And there would we caress and explore,

Spending our lives in love evermore.

.

And there would we caress and explore,

Spending our lives in love evermore.

.

Of the world's harsh rules, time's consent,

Which garden was it, what had she meant?

.

Or had she meant the Garden to be,

Within our minds, that place so free.
