The double doors opened to a well dressed crowd. All were standing and looking back, as a woman in a white dress, locked arms with a man, an older man. She looked around and smiled, she looked forwards up the aisle, to the small stage. A man in a tuxedo stood with a priest. The woman with the older man started to walk down the aisle as the double doors closed. They walked as rain clicked against the windows of the church. People smiled, some cried as the father walked his daughter to the man she will marry.
They got to the small steps of the stage, he let go of her hand as she walked up the few steps and held on to her soon to be husbands hand. They stood looking into each other's eyes, as the priest started to read from the book and as the people settled down.
The double doors at the end of the aisle creeped open and 4 men in black suits crept in and stayed back. Only a few people and the daughter saw, but didn't care, as she was getting married. Her soon to be husband though, kept on looking at her and at the 4 men who stood side by side at the end of the aisle.
Then he stopped and stared at her. "I'm sorry" he said as he kissed her, people were confused and the priest started to drift off from reading. Then her soon to be husband pushed her back, he pulled out his pistol and aimed towards the 4 men. She watched as he fired at the men. The men started to fire back. She laid on the floor and watched as he finished off the clip, bullets punctured into him and the priest, blood splattered out of both of them. Both fell to the ground.
She focused on him as he laid on the ground in a puddle of his own blood. She crawled over to him and put her hands on him as she cried. She stared at him, while around them there was screaming. Then she heard more gun shots from outside.
He looked at her and rubbed her cheek with his hand, "I'm... sorry" he repeated, then his arm went limp.
She whispered "no", as she gripped him and laid her head against his bloody chest. She stayed stationary for a few moments, then she raised her head and looked back. Most everyone was cleared out of the church, but a few were standing at the beginning of the stage looking at her.
She stood up and walked past the few people that stayed. She walked down the aisle in shock, she looked at one of the dead men as she stepped over him. She pushed open the double doors into the little lobby, then she pushed open the main doors and she walked outside into the rain. She stood at the top of the stairs. She looked to see another of the 4 men in suits dead, at the bottom of the staircase. She looked a little further to see a dead police officer in the street.
She kneeled down and thought to herself. This was suppose to be the best day of my life, but instead, today is worse than I could have ever imagined.
