I am from books,
on my bookshelf.
I am from my bed,
the soft sheets I lay on at night.
I am from the cat,
snoring softly on her fortress,
to the hamster running,
loudly on his wheel at night.
I am from a book,
where I put all my faith,
and the verses from the book,
that speak to me.
from the smell of strong coffee,
that greets me every morning.
from the clear blue water,
I cool off in during the summer.
I am from the big yellow bus,
that takes me to a dream,
and one day a new reality.
I am from the rusty barn,
that holds all my friends who neigh.
from the backyard to the front,
from the side to the other side,
and the house that sits in the middle, my home.
I am from a life,
a life that's mine,
a life that I decide what to do,
to run wild or free or stay logical.
I am from me.
