The other day I saw a family
Begging for food so calmly
It was outside a Walmart
I saw that and my heart got a start
Start of compassion and giving
While they waited, they didn't know I was bringing
Bringing them food that would sustain them for another day
But opportunity missed, they didn't wait
Suddenly they disappeared,
I went everywhere looking, but no one appeared
I later was told by an employee
"Sir, we can't have people beg, it's against corporate law"
Furious, rage and anger, did you not see what I saw?
A sign that said "please help feed my
family"
Not being a disturbance, they had left so calmly.
