There was once a girl who know she could conquer the world, so she climbed into her spaceship and flew to the Island of Crushed Hopes and Lost Dreams.
There was once a boy who dreamed so big that his ideas alone took an entire forest to write down, and suddenly his ideas didn't seem so helpful or world-changing.
When the girl left her spaceship and traveled into a nearby forest, she discovered ideas so awe-inspiring that tears filled her eyes, and she fell to her knees, pained that ideas so helpful and world-changing had been lost.
When the boy discovered that the World thought differently, he clothed himself in normalcy and dullness, fearful of opposition.
Knowing the greatness of the forest she had stumbled upon, the girl picked up her sword and began to hack at the trees, knowing that if she could only return them to the world, all would be well.
Underneath the cloak of normalcy, a storm raged inside of a boy too naive to understand that standing out would be the only chance at salvation his World would ever have.
For hours on end, the girl felled tree after tree, until finally, with one last "whack," the last idea fell to the ground, and in its wake was a presence to powerful and so alive that it seemed to draw a breath of its own. With waning strength, she took the light and boarded her spaceship, understanding the mission she had been destined to fulfill since the day she was born.
One day, the boy woke up, knowing that the storm raging inside of his soul would not be contained much longer, and the boy did something that the World stopped and stared at in confusion and anger. For the first time since he had clothed himself in normalcy, the boy smiled.
The girl almost didn't find him, for the World understood how to form a storm as well, and change was not something it welcomed with open arms. But find him she did, for despite all of the darkness she had to travel though, his storm was pure light, and all of the dark forces in the universe could not overpower his strength.
He saw her coming from the instant she broke through the atmosphere, and joy burned through his veins and heart and very soul, for he had never seen a light so brilliant. He was no longer ashamed of his difference, so he threw off his disguise and was almost blinded by the whirlwind of colors that burst forth.
They met like two atoms colliding, obliterating all darkness that the World threw at them. Clouds of grey swirled around them, but they stood in the eye of the storm, knowing that they had defeated the odds, and with the storms of color and light raging through themselves, darkness would never again knock at their door.
Together, they had overcome the World.
