"You'll be fine, your smart and you love sports plus your body is to die for, they will literally be lining up to be with you," Adesire said jokingly.

I was on my way to my new school, boarding. I was really scared so I called her to give me peace of mind, but i still felt like i was about to throw up all over the taxi.

"Are you even listening to me" she screamed through the phone.

"Ya I am, just trying to keep myself calm, I've never been the new kid before, so trying to make a whole new group of friends, just the thought of it freaks me out," I whisper into the mic, the fear prominent in my voice.

"You'll be fine, I promise," she says with a calming voice, at that moment I just let my body relax. "I have to go, I have lessons in I few"

"Ok, have fun with AP Physics. Love you" I say to her

"Love you too!!" she says before she hangs up the phone.

At that moment the car pulled up into the schools compound. Benet college, the school was divided into 2 buildings, an 8 story building dedicated to the residence and a smaller 2 story building for classes. Right in front of the buildings where a big field with benches lining the side, i can already imagine students spending most of there time here.

As I stepped out of the car i began to shiver, the wind hitting my body with a strong force, I would have to buy several sweaters soon or i might become an ice sculpture.

I stepped through the front, and immediately my senses where overloaded, the sounds of people running to greet old friends, laughter filled the room, the smell of freshly baked cookies was still in the air, in that moment i just wanted to turn back and go home, but i could not do that, i have to be strong.

I looked forward and set my eyes on my goal, the front desk, they would know what i need to do.

"Hello, my name is Emily Nkafo, I'm a new student," I said as clearly as I could, I would be lying if I said I did not change my accent a little bit.

"Find your name and sign next to it." the receptionist said, slamming the book down in front of me.

I began to trace my finger down the page to find my name as she stared at me, i was like she was staring into my sole, i wanted to find my name as quickly as possible now.

Finally, i found my name close to the top of the second page and quickly signed nnext to it. She then gave a folder with my name smeared across the front of the page and a key and a key card.

"Your room is on the 6th floor, room 516," she said finally with a smile in her face, did not know if it was because i was leaving her alone finally or she was a genuinely nice person.

********

"Room 516, home sweet home for the next three months," I said to myself.

I put the card into the door then pushed it open, it was simple. There was a s mall bed, tiwin size, a small desk and a small closet. the walls cream coloured littred with the hokes that previous users of the room had put up.

I was so tired so i changed into my pyjamas and got into the already made bed, my dreams filled with thoughts of the days to come.
