~~ Sam's Pov~~

School has been a bit different lately. Still a bunch of shit getting thrown towards me, but something was missing. Emily hadn't came to school in a phew weeks. I'm hoping the message has nothing to do with it, yikes.

I gathered my books when the bell went. Students stumbled towards the door like a stamped. Is this what the lion king feels like? I just need somebody to throw my step-dad off the roof. That'll be entertaining to watch.

I patiently waited for the hallways to clear, as I made my exit. It's normally the lazy People that are late leaving, or the idiots getting detention. I exit through the door, seeing a bright and cheerful Mia waiting.

I softly smiled at her direction. I started to walk, with her trailing behind.

"I saw this really cute girl today in the cafeteria, I think I melted!" She exclaimed. I was amused by her stupidity.

"Everyday you see somebody cute," I reply. She always tells me about somebody each day, too bad everybody is straight.

"Indeed I do," she simply states, smiling at me

"What?" I asked in confusion. Her staring is really making me uncomfortable.

"You get really uncomfortable when people stare at you don't ya," she states, a little giggle to her tone.

"No shit Sherlock," I reply as if it's the most obvious thing in the world.

Me and Mia part ways, she goes to her lane, as she knows I mustn't be seen with anybody by my-.. the beast. We call him that now. What else is he? An ugly, alcoholic abusive beast. He deserves to die.

Me and Mia have been getting pretty close. I'm still a bit weary, but I'm comfortable being seen with her now, since it would be bad since everybody else is ignoring her now, or the attention is the unwanted kind.

I'm worried about Emily though. I saw her friends crying the first day she didn't arrive. I over heard something about an attack. Probably nothing to do with her though, right?

I brushed off that thought as I walked into my living room. The beast hasn't arrived yet, that gives me time to lock myself on my room, the morning will be rough though. It always is with him.

I rush towards my bedroom, positioning a stool against the door handle. My stomach is howling at me, but I dare not eat anything, just incase the beast comes in at that time, makes me choke on it. I sit against the wall, not knowing of what to do. I don't want to rotting in my bedroom with a fully grown man banging at my door, maybe I should go out? Mia might meet me, we never have met before, it'll be a nice change.

I retrieve my phone from the endless bag. I swear it's some sort of Narnia bag, one day I found a full chocolate bar, I can't remember when I bought it.

I dialed Mia's number. I believe I've never rang it, she just decided to put it in my phone one day when I wasn't paying attention. She picked up on the second ring.

"Yellow hello?" She answered cheerfully. When is she not?

"Hey Mia," I replied quietly.

"Sam! Hello how are you why did you call me? Miss me already?" I can hear the smirk in her voice.

"I want to get away from home, wanna go park of something?" Is suggested.

She replied almost instantly with an over exited "yes!"

"Okay, cya there," I said, again quietly, and hanging up. I changed out of my clothes I had worn for school, into a pair of ripped jeans, a simple band tee, hoodie and beanie. I didn't forget my backpack of Couse, it's like my life and soul.

I slipped out of the window, climbing down the wall like I had done a million times. I retrieved my father's old black bike, which I had customised with red paint. Band symbols, other symbols and junk I like I sprayed on. This was my dad's bike. Not my step dads, the dad that I was birthed with... And that sounds really weird. You get what I mean.

I set off on the bike, heading towards the park, not far from here. I took a phew sharp corners, crossing roads and junctions, until I came upon the parks gates. Already waiting was the one and only Mia.

She gave me that bright adorable smile I've always known, but not quite loved. Her dimples where really cute though.

"Hey!" She waved, jogging up to me as I made my way near.

"Hello," I simply replied back, stopping a phew feet before her.

"Nice bike," she said checking it out as if it was a girl she had an eye for.

"Back off, my baby," I said in a joking tone, hugging the bike.

"Oh don't worry I wasn't checking out the bike," she said with a smirk. A blush played around my face, but soon disappeared. It would have stayed if I had feelings for this girl

"Um. So what do you want to do now?" I asked, changing the subject.

"I dunno, what do you want to do?" She asked, stuffing her hands into her pockets.

"I guess we could go to th-" I was gonna suggest the smoothie shack. But something caught my attention.

"What is it?" Mia asked.

"Emily..." I simply replied. She looked different. She wasn't wearing all her makeup, and it looks like she had met up with Chad, head down low.

I saw by Chad's expression he was pissed off with her. Like badly. The rage was almost steaming out his ears. Upon arrival, he grabbed her arm and took her to an alleyway. I do not like the look of this.

I decided to follow them.
