“Everyday is sooo wonderful.” Woke up to the wise words of my favorite song, and no I’m not telling you, figure it out. The sun, peeking through my shutters: yea, its morning all right. Getting out of bed has never been more of a challenge. You might think I’m lazy considering the fact that my home is my office. What do I do? Well, you’d figure it out as you go along. Living alone, the best decision I’ve made for myself ever since I turned 20.
I suited up, getting ready for my daily doze of exercise. My day has been planned out to every last detail. Opening the door I was welcomed with the feel of the early morning breeze, neglecting the cold, I plugged in my music player and set off.
My thoughts and worries, slowly evaporating with every drop of my sweat perspiration, my anxieties seeping out with every step I make. The world is certainly at peace, and I got no worries. Feeling energized I push myself and I go faster, the only sounds I hear are the pounding of my feet against the gravel, the sound of the fallen leaves sadly being trodden by me, my heartbeat, escalating quickly from the rush of adrenaline, my breath coming out in puffs as I exert myself. I like this, I love the challenge, the rush, faster, faster I go.
There I was, accelerating in my own bubble, forgetting for a moment that people also use this sidewalk. Suddenly I came to an abrupt halt, my world fading away like effervescent, gravity seemed to be doing its job. Everything happened soo quickly, I was falling over, and there was no way I could salvage the situation. The floor, rapidly, becoming my only field of view. Just then, I felt a set of strong toned arms, yanking me from gravity’s spiral. It took a moment for the world to stop spinning, and I was met with the most incredible set of brown eyes, you can ever imagine.
“Are you all right?” a strong, masculine voice hovering, above my eardrums. Still in a trance, I was unable to utter even a vowel. I suddenly let out a breath I didn’t know I had held on to. He hauled me up, I felt like a fish out of water, because I started to hyperventilate. Almost like my body is trying to tell me something. He might start to think I’m weird or something. Thank goodness, I finally had my breath under control. My sight finally focused and I took it all in.
That was an encounter that completely took my life through a complete detour. Suddenly my scheduled life suddenly didn’t make sense. Confused, you’ll understand in a bit. “ I am Jason, Jason Black, what’s yours?” a nice name to go with the looks, “ Shelly, Shelly Moshe.” Having no time for pleasantries, I bid my farewell and made my way home. Who knows if fate decides to be less cruel, we might meet on more leveled terms, not hopeful though. So here I was in the shower, blasting away the stench of fitness. Then comes a knock to my bathroom door, I don’t remember giving my key out to anyone, unless. “Shelllllyyyyyyyyy!!!! Come on out!”
