A fluffy amber colored she-cat was pacing back and forth, waiting for someone to show up. She was mumbling quietly to herself as she walked. then a sleek blue-grey tabby came out of the bushes and called out to her. "Amberpetal!" Amberpetal flinched and looked behind her, seeing the newly arrived tabby, it took her a moment to register who was sitting in front of her. she was sitting there cleaning her paw, not realizing she was upset, which made Amberpetal only more upset. "Why?" she cried out, she stuck her paw out towards the tabby accusingly "Why have you stopped coming home to our nest at night?" the blue tabby lowered her paw and looked down before looking back up at her "I'm sorry! i keep losing track of time.." she mumbled out the last bit. Amberpetal raised her tail, trying to hold back the tears "You spend so much time with them! do you know how much I worry about you, Blueshade, while you are there with them?" she put her paw on her own chest, the tears finally leaking from her eyes.
The sleek she-cat lowed her head a bit feeling guilty for making her mate feel so worried "Especially after I heard a rumor that somebody has been turning into a shadow" Amberpetal walked a bit closer, wanting to seek comfort from her mate, but instead of Blueshade getting up to comfort her, she rolled her eyes "What, do you think it's me? well, guess what it isn't more nor is it Abyssstar" she stated. Amberpetal froze, and looked down at her mate, she couldn't believe what she was hearing. Blueshade continued "Plus, even if I was, its not my fault. it wasn't My idea to hang out with them" Blueshade got up and stretched. Amberpetal walked towards Blueshade, "Are you saying it's my fault" she cried out, sticking her face close to Blueshade's. she turned around and walked away a bit, while Blueshade realized what she had said. "No! I'm saying you have nothing to worry about! they are fine, nobody has changed one bit!" the blue tabby cried out. Amberpetal quickly turned around walking back towards Blueshade very slowly "Blueshade, seeming fine is Nothing when you are one of the first few leaders!" she spoke slowly, and with a tone of anger in her voice. Blue lifted her paw towards Amber, before retracting it "You all accuse her of being evil! why? all she does is keep the shadows in check! who says you aren't the evil ones?!" Blueshade snapped back, with a bit of anger in her voice.
Amberpetal's eyes opened wide, did Blueshade really just say that? "Go in the shadows Blueshade." Amber said taking another step towards Blueshade, getting close enough that she could hit her. Blueshade puffed up her fur a bit "Why?" she glared at Amberpetal. "Prove that you are fine!" Amberpetal cried out, she squeezed her eyes shut, trying to stop the tears to no avail, and they leaked down her face anyway. Blueshade took a step towards her mate, she was deeply regretting what she said, now that she sees Amberpetal crying. "Amberpetal, I'm sorry" she said sincerely "I don't want your apologies! just do it, Prove you're not becoming a shadow!" Amberpetal sobbed, stepping away from Blueshade so that she couldn't comfort her. Blueshade looked down at the ground behind her, feeling hurt that her mate would accuse her of such things. she turned around and walked towards the shadows to prove her mate wrong. she turned around and smiled, her eyes shut as she grinned. the second she opened her eyes, Amberpetal gasped and took several steps back, Blueshade tilted her head and took a step towards her, confused. "Don't come near me!" Amberpetal yelled. Blueshade flinched, at her mate yelling, she looked at the ground feeling guilty, she glanced back up at her mate to see her running away, she reached out her arm and called out for her to stop. she almost ran after her, but she didn't want to make it worse. she looked around and saw a puddle nearby, she walked over to it and looked down into it, at that very moment her world shattered. Amberpetal was right, she was turning into a shadow.
Blueshade slowly walked back to where their nest was, to one cry her eyes out, and two, to wait for her mate to return so she could apologize, but Blueshade woke up alone and disappointed that Amberpetal had not returned during the night, she left the den and looked around and asked some cats she ran into if they had seen her, all replied no.
All but Moonecho, who said that when she was talking Grassstar outside of the entrance to the moonpool, guarding it like usual, Amberpetal had run by crying. Moonecho asked her what was wrong, which she explained that she had a fight with her mate. Grassstar then recommended that she go watch over her clan. Blueshade quickly asked if she can go find her, which Moonecho happily obliged, and let her by. Blue quickly ran into the cave and then splashed into the water, she squeezed her eyes shut, then opened them again, now in the mortal world. she ran out of the cave and ran as fast as she could towards Stormclan, as she ran she saw two border patrols in a fight, she rolled her eyes since that was like an everyday thing for the living cats. she quickly ran into the Stormclan camp, and couldn't help but smile to see that it all was the same from when it belonged to her clan. she quickly looked around and saw her nowhere. she slowly looked in the queen's den and started freaking out when she saw a queen lying there, that looked as if she was a few moons into her pregnancy. what freaked her out though, was the fact that the she-cat looked quite a bit like Amberpetal's sister. she started to hyperventilate, putting the facts together, she knew that Amberpetal was prone to making hasty decisions, without thinking for one second. The queen opened her eyes and looked around the den, her eyes were a bright green, and were glowing a bit. that finalized it, Amberpetal did the unthinkable.
she rushed out of the den then out of the camp, crying out apologies that she knew Amberpetal would never get to hear, she didn't pay attention to where she ran and ended up running into someone. she blinked, extremely confused as to how she ran into someone. she looked up to see a fluffy silver tabby looking down at her, worry in his eyes. "Are you ok? did you just die too?" he asked, panicking a bit. Blueshade was surprised by his question "No, I'm long dead." she said slowly "Why, did you just die?" she asked tilting her head a bit. the tom scowled "Yes. stupid mouse-brained treeclan cats" he spat at the ground. Blue got up and raised an eyebrow at him, kind of insulted that he just insulted her clan. he shook his head "Sorry, where are my manners." he looked at Blueshade with a grin "Cloudsong, Deputy of Stormclan" he said "well, was deputy, seeing i'm dead now" he added with a chuckle. Blueshade smiled back at him politely "I'm Blueshade, of Treeclan." she gave him a small nod. Cloud quickly grinned awkwardly, realizing that he screwed up by calling her clan mouse-brained in front of her, he did not apologize though. "What were you doing in Stormclan territory?" he asked trying his best to hold a conversation. "I was looking for my mate, now excuse me, I need to look in my clan, I bet your family will be here shortly to show you the way to starclan" she said before running off.
once she arrived in the treeclan camp, she glanced around a bit. she sighed deeply, her mate was gone, should she join her? as she thought she found herself crawling down into the Treeclan nurcery without meaning too. there was a queen lying there, Blueshade gulped looking down at her. there was a 96% of them being related, she got close to the queen then looked back towards the exit and whispered a goodbye to starclan. "ill be with you soon Amberpetal" she whispered before putting her paw on the queen's stomach, then dissapeared.
