"MERCIA! GET BACK HERE RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!" Her dad screamed as her wicked step mother laughed. Mercia kept running, as the rocks and twigs scratched at her bare feet. Dangit I knew I should of wore shoes....more so my flip flops at the most. As she got deeper into the forest. The soil was more cold and dewy. She stopped running sweating as her white dress stuck to her back. Although it was fall it was awfully hot where she lived. She stopped trying to catch her breath as a sob built up closing her air ways. She calmed down putting her arms over her head. She took in a gulp of air her lungs capturing as much air as she can. "I did it....I escaped...." she felt herself smile. She looked around. The air shifted into something more calming and sensitive. She walked careful to not step in any sharp rocks. Her feet were sore and her muscles ached. She walked but it wasn't for a long time. Her knees buckled as she crumbled to the ground. Her eyes became heavy and she sniffed. Something told her to keep going. She weakly got up and continued walking. She walked until she came across a pond. She kneeled at the edge of it seeing her self in the water.

Suddenly a crack of thunder roared in her ears. "What the-" she opened her eyes and gasped. There appearing out of nowhere was a starry like portal. She stood up as the water rolled off her legs as she walked. She reached out to touch the portal. Her hand sunk into the portal. Is this my escape...it has to be!!!! She felt giddy just as she put her whole body through...
