This was what I wanted. The love of my life right here with me after years of fighting to be where we are now. The memories, the pacifying memories that clouds every cleft of my mind has now rooted me from ever leaving this beautiful cadence of our passionate love. It still amazes me- us of what that first look feels like, forty-seven years later.
A lone tear is running down my cheek, reminding me of our first 'I love you's while this heart of mine clenches with the heartbreak of having lost ourselves from the satisfying essence of youth to these old souls that time and experience made us. Holding fervently onto her hands, I stare into her beautiful, dark eyes I once described as my two orbs of swirling, hypnotizing jewels. I love them- yes, I still do despite their aging, because despite what time has now made us, we are still solidly locked in the haze of the olden charm of our sweet, young love.
