Chapter 1:
Willow POV
"Ouch" I mumbled aloud as I rolled out of bed, bumping my thigh. Glancing down I saw a black and blue bruise staring back at me. Surprised, I poked it to see how badly it hurt. I didn't know I formed bruises that easily. I thought to myself, strange. Still a little groggy from sleep, I lifted myself out of bed and stumbled to my bathroom door that connects to my room only to find my face in my brothers dripping wet chest. "Jonah," I screeched, "put some goddamned clothes on!"
"Chill baby sis. Not like you've never seen me naked."
"First, do not call me that. You're three minutes older. Second, we were 8. I have no desire to see you naked." I nearly growled. Mornings were not for me, and this one was off to a great start. Jonah just chuckled sarcastically as I pushed past him into the bathroom. My day got five times worse when I saw the rat's nest that I call my thick, auburn hair. I begrudgingly grabbed my brush and started to yank through the knots. I analyzed my face while brushing, summer was just starting so my freckles were showing full force and my green eyes were the brightest they've ever been. I finished taming my hair and brushed on a light layer of makeup to compliment my features. When I was satisfied with how I looked, I straightened my tshirt and poked my head into Jonah's room.
"Are you ready to go, asshole?" I said.
Jonah looked up from his phone, standing in the middle of the room, "When you are, weirdo." Judging by the look on his face, I could tell what was about to happen so I bolted from the room and ran down the stairs, squealing when I heard Jonah's footsteps clomping down the stair behind me. I was almost to the counter when one of his arms grabbed me from behind and swung me out of the way, grabbing the car keys with his other hand.
"That's not fair," I whined, "you're like a foot taller than me, that's practically cheating."
"It's not cheating, I'm just using my resources wisely." Jonah laughed as he cockily got in the drivers seat. I'm 5'1" and Jonah is 6'3". I climbed in the passenger seat grumbling as Jonah took off on the road to school.
When we pulled into the parking lot, Jonah got out of the car and slipped on his signature Letterman's jacket looking the way the school's star athlete should. "Bye, baby sis. I'll see you after school." he drawled, slipping into his facade. I stepped out of the car as he locked it, wandering into the school behind him and quickly slipping into "that one girl who looks like Jonah." At Crestmont High, I was truly just Jonah's sister, living in his shadow. I didn't really talk to many people, just Elsa, my best friend and walking into the school doors, I rushed to find her. As I rounded the corner to my first period class, where Elsa usually waited for me, I ran straight into a tall, hard body.
"Hey!" I exclaimed, as I fell on my butt, "Watch where you're going!"
"Me? You ran into me!" he argued, but offered me a hand. I glanced up at him and saw striking blue eyes staring down at me with irritation. Even though they seemed mean at the moment, his eyes sent chills up my spine and caused my heart to falter. They were framed by thick lashes that would make any girl envy him, and he had hair that was so dark brown, that you could mistake it for black. He was dressed in dark jeans, a white tee-shirt and a leather jacket. He radiated danger and bad boy, and boy was he was gorgeous, but I was mad at him. Frustrated, I pushed his hand out of the way and stood up. Brushing myself off, I grimaced at him, "So you're blaming me?"
"Sure am!" he replied cockily. Not wanting to satisfy him with an answer, I attempted to head into class. "Wait," he said, grabbing my arm, "Don't I get to know your name?" he winked. I was momentarily stunned, but I shook it off.
"Sorry, I don't talk to strangers, especially ones who push me over and don't apologize." I gave him my biggest smile and went to sit down next to a beaming Elsa.
"Ohmygodthatguywassocutewhoishe?" Elsa exclaimed in one breath as soon as I was in earshot.
I laughed at my best friend and sat down, "Actually, I'm not sure. He ran into me and knocked me over."
"And you didn't get his number?" she questioned me like I was crazy.
"Nope, he isn't THAT cute, Elsa." As if I needed to convince myself of the lie, I glanced up to see him staring at me. Our eyes locked and he put on a lopsided grin that caused my heart to skip a beat. So I was lying, he was capital H, Hot. But I wasn't going to let that cocky asshole know I thought so.
