"Mum do I have to go to support group? It's not needed." My mum turned towards me and glared. "Yes Amanda. You have to go." I slowly turn up my music. My mind is screaming 'THAT'S NOT MY NAME! I'M NOT YOUR SWEET LITTLE GIRL!' Of course I would never be able to say that out loud but at least I could scream it in my mind.

"Alright so let's introduce ourselves. My name is Peggy and my favourite colour is blue. Who wants to go next?" Peggy exclaimed with a gleam in her sea green eyes. "No one? Okay I'll just have to call on someone." Not me not me not me.... "Amanda? Why don't you share something about yourself."
"Okay.... Hi so my name is *coughs* Amanda. I don't want to be here." I say  choking on the name Amanda. "Thank you sweety. You can sit down now." I glare slightly at the brunette before sitting in my seat.
"Alright then. Anybody else?" Nobody answered her. "How about um Anthony?" I saw a person with blue hair and hazel eyes stand up. "Hi so my name is Anthony. My pronouns are they/them. Try not to mess up. Can I sit now?" Peggy just looked at them. Almost having a silent argument. "Yes. You can all go meet your parents now. See you all next week." With that I jumped out of my seat and practically ran out of the room. I practically froze when I saw my mum. When was I going to tell her.

We sat in silence for some time before mum turned on the radio. She looked over at me and smiled. I knew it was time to tell her.
I turned off the radio. "Is something wrong sweety? Did support group go okay?"

"Everything is fine. I'm okay.  I just have to tell you something."

"You can tell me anything honey."

I took a deep breath. This was it.       "Mum, I'm transgender."
