Ricky's POV.
I wait at the back gate of the school I've just had my first day at. I guess it didn't go too badly. Most of my teachers are really nice (except for my super strict French teacher, but luckily I learnt French at my old school, so I have a bit of a head start).
I'm not waiting for too long before Mum's car pulls up at the kerb. She smiles and waves when she sees me, and I do the same as I walk towards the car.
"Hey, honey!" She beams as I open the door and climb into the car. "So, how did it all go?"
"Not too bad," I shrug. "The principal of the school seems nice."
"Did you meet anyone?" Mum asks.
"Not really yet," I reply. "Well...except for this girl...."
Mum turns to look at me, clearly intrigued. "A girl?" She repeats.
I bite my lip and look down. I shouldn't have said anything.
"Well, what's she like?" Mum queries.
I inhale deeply and decide to tell her. "She's gorgeous. She seems like a little bit of a nerd, but I love girls like that. She said she'd help me out with starting school as well."
"Ah, she's a keeper," Mum jokes. "Maybe you should ask her out."
I gasp. "Mum!" I exclaim. "I literally only met her today."
"I'm joking, honey, I'm joking," she laughs. "But over time, maybe...."
I sigh. "Whatever you say," I tell her. "Well, her name's Ellie."
"What does she look like?" Mum asks. Wow, talk about intrusive.
"Short blonde hair, green eyes, glasses," I answer. "Now is this interrogation over?"
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry," Mum chuckles. "I'm just curious."
"Curious George," I tease, making her laugh again.
...
When I arrive home, I go onto Facebook to see if any of my American friends are online. It's only 3:30pm here, and I worked out earlier that America is 17 hours behind Australia, making it 10:30pm there. That's how late most of my friends stay up anyway.
I log on and see that unfortunately, no one is online. But I was talking to my friend Connor a few days ago, and saying that I'd just landed in Australia. He's one of my best friends, and I've known him since I was really little. Since I can't really talk to anyone, I decide to do something that would make my mum whistle.
I click the search bar and type in Ellie Waters.
A couple of people come up, and I click the one with the girl in my class as her profile picture. A lot of the selfies she takes make her look even more pretty than she looked when I first saw her today. I smile at her beauty. Before I know it, I've clicked the 'friend request' button. I type a quick message:
*Hey Ellie, it's the new guy, Ricky. Follow me? :)*
I hit 'request'.
{Hey everyone! I hope you like the story so far. Sorry that I made Ricky do pretty much exactly what Ellie did, but I couldn't really think of anything. Idk when I'm going to update, but I hope to make it soon. Thanks again for reading and voting :) Love ya xx}
