'BUZZZZZZ BUZZZZZZZ'
Clarke shifted in her bed and turned over to her alarm clock. With one hit the alarm clock stopped and fell on the floor. She groaned and pushed her bed covers off of her. She turned and sat up and flinched when her feet touched the cold, wooden floor. She stood up and went to open her curtains. She was half blinded by the bright sunlight that shone through her window. She turned and headed for the bathroom.
When Clarke entered the bathroom, she was greeted by her older sister, Hunter.
"Morning bedhead" Hunter laughed as she straightened her hair.
"Morning cupcakes" Clarke replied happily, referring to Hunters PJs.
Clarke watched her sister straighten her brown and blonde ombre hair. Clarke then grabbed a hair brush from the counter by the sink and started to brush through her hair. She tied it back into a low bun with little pieces of hair sticking out. Clarke left the bathroom and walked back into her own room.
Clarke was looking through her wardrobe when she heard her sisters footsteps leave the bathroom. Clarke picked out a grey hoodie with yellow stripes along the side and matching shorts.
"CLARKE?!" Hunter yelled across the hallway.
"Yeah?" Clarke replied curiously.
"Have you seen my pink bomber jacket?!" Hunter asked
Clarke looked through her wardrobe and seen a bright pink sleeve. She took it out and noticed that it definitely was Hunter's jacket.
"Found it!" Clarke yelled back "I must have borrowed it when I was cold"
"Thanks" Hunter replied before entering Clarke's room and taking it back.
"No problem" Clarke replied cheerfully.
After Clarke got dressed, she made her way downstairs to the kitchen. She opened the cupboards and examined the food inside. She picked out pancakes, maple syrup, sugar and some fresh strawberries. As she was making the pancakes, she heard Hunter's footsteps coming down the stairs.
"What smells good?" Hunter asked.
"Making some pancakes with maple syrup, topped with strawberries and a pinch of sugar" Clarke replied cheerfully.
"Smells just like Mom's" Hunter said with sadness in her voice.
It had been long since the girls had seen their mother, and they wished they could see her right now, but that can't happen.
There was a moment of silence in the room. Hunter then proceeded to set up the table for her and her sister. Clarke sprinkled the last few grains of sugar onto the pancakes.
"All done" Clarke said happily.
"Great!" Hunter cheered.
Clarke served the pancakes nicely and the two girls sat down and started eating.
"Great as always" Hunter said enthusiastically.
"Thanks" Clarke laughed.
Clarke ran upstairs and brushed her teeth. She then ran into her bedroom, grabbed her bag and ran back downstairs.
"Ready?" Hunter asked.
"Ready" Clarke replied.
The two girls went outside and Hunter started her red car.
"Hop in" Hunter said.
Clarke happily got in the passenger seat and Hunter pushed down the handbrake and pushed her foot down on the accelerator.
