I woke up to a shine in my eye. Like every morning I got a text from my friend Dillan.
"Hey bro you up. Me and Grace will meet you at the front of the school"
" Uggggghhh" I complained to my self as I got up. Every day it's always hey me and grace....
They have been dating for a month and they are already the power couple of the school. Grace was the new girl this year and she became popular in the first week. I don't know how girls do it. I've known almost everyone one at that school for years and only made on true friend, but now he's gone. My Grandma always told me, " A kid like you doesn't make friends that easy, but when you do they don't say around that long. Heck I bet Dillan will be gone before you are sixteen." Every day I got scared that she was right. My sixteenth birthday is only two weeks away and I'm already losing Dillan. In fact I don't even think he remembers it's my birthday.

I got dressed in a blue shirt and jeans and brushed my blonde hair out of my face ,but it was still there. I found a jacket on the floor that Grace gave to me. I picked it up and put it on. Outside it was 40 degrees Fahrenheit so I needed a jacket. I just wish my only jacket wasn't from Grace. As I walked outside a cold wind brushed against my face. I turned toward the house next to mine and I was my neighbor Cally was looking at me. We locked eyes for a few seconds and then she waved. I waved back and she ran toward me. Her strawberry blonde hair was it a high ponytail and she had a fluffy white jacket on. She was pretty but it's awkward to like your neighbor so I shook the idea out of my head. " Hey Leo " her words made me feel warm inside like they usually do. " Hey Cally, wanna walk to school together?" She looked at me in surprised . " Really. I thought you would be walking with Dillan and Grace!" " No I'm just meeting up with them at school. So is that a yes?" She grabbed my hand and smiled " Let's go."

Her hand was ice cold and soft. The moment didn't last long because she let go in the first few steps. As we walked up to the school gates she ran off to her friends. I looked around to see if I could find Dillan and Grace but they were nowhere in sight. I walked in the building and asked a small girl if she saw them." Hey quick question, Have you seen Dillan or Grace?" I was asking a lot of questions today and no one gave me a direct answer. The girl looked up to me and shrugged her shoulders. " I was to busy reading my book that I wasn't paying attention." "So no then. Awesome ." The girl when
back to reading her book . I watched her walk three steps then trip over her laces."*Sigh*. I'm not having a good day."

The bell rang and I walked into class. Guess who I saw sitting there. That right, the stupid power couple holding hands. "Hey guys." Grace turned around and smiled " Hi Leo. I see you like the jacket." " Yah." I rolled my eyes
"Okay class tomorrow is the weekend so I'm not giving homework because I don't want to grade stuff. In the mean time I need you guess to write about BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH." I tuned the teacher out because I didn't want to write about stuff. He came around and gave us papers and sat back down looking at his phone. The good thing about Mr. Des Martino is that he just gave people A's no matter what you do. I took my pencil and stared writing bout how I hate the cold. Like who even needs that. After I wasted five minutes of my life, I turned around and stared talking to Dillan. "So are you free tonight?" He took a minute to respond and he ended up saying no. Then Grace interfered " Leo why don't and I talk after school, I don't know much about you but I heard some FAN TASTIC things about you." I was really weirded out that she put a space in fantastic that I almost forgot to answer. " Oh well, I'm kinda boring so you would want to hang out with me plus, I'm probably going to have a lot of homework." She gave me a dirty look " Okay fine. One day soon though right?" My real answer would have been NO HONEY GO GET YOUR NAILS DONE BY YOURSELF , but Dillan was giving me the death stare. "Of course!" She did a little happy dance while I puked in my mouth a little.
As the day carried on she kept giving my dirty looks and I knew that meant. I was a dead Leo.
