twelve
Starting out like any New Years Eve would, I awoke early collected my overnight bag and broom and few high into the misty sky above Wiltshire and venturing towards The Malfoy's Manor.
Before hand I had sent off a letter to The Weasley's. It had drawings of them and sweets and a letter to say have a lovely New Years, I just wanted to send them something nice.
It was always strange going to the Malfoy's Manor because as beautiful as the home was in the day, at night it was unbelievably creepy. Narcissa told me I was always welcome to stay but I knew she would only say that because of my mother. I did enjoy the company of Narcissa. She wasn't as stuck up as I once thought and she wasn't very comfortable with the whole dark arts thing as I once thought she was either.
As I touched down in front of their home, the huge wooden door swung open, Narcissa, Lucius and Draco stood waiting for me. Another tiny face appearing but was shooed away quickly, I smiled to see them. Well, to see Draco. I skipped over to them, my hair turning bleache blonde and Draco laughed.
"Why'd you always do that?" He asked giving me a quick hug.
"It makes me laugh, I feel fitting." I giggled at him
"Lucia, I told father about going in for the team..." Draco reeled on and on about it, dragging me off around the house in search for a room I wanted to use.
Once I had found a large room not too far from Draco's I settled in, heaving my backpack onto the bed with me. Standing up to lean my broom against the large wooden wardrobe near the door I almost tumbled over a small creature in front on me. I immediately screamed, falling back onto my bed only to finally realise what it was. The small creature was wearing some sort of dirty pillow case with holes, it had long pointy ears and big bulging eyes. A house elf. I suddenly regretted screaming as I heard Narcissa and Lucius down the hall, they were going to come straight into the room wondering what had happened.
Knowing full well this poor house elf would sure be punished I picked him up, told him to stay quiet and popped him behind the opened door, seconds late Narcissa marched in, Lucius followed.
"Darling, are you alright? We heard you scream." She asked coming to check if I was okay.
"Y-yes, fine, I'm fine. Just saw a spider. I hate those retched things. Caught me off guard." I smiled trying to hide what really happened. The glare from Lucius told me he didn't believe me but they left anyway.
As soon as they were out of ear shot I opened up my wardrobe to see the scared looked house elf picking at the end of his clothes - if you could call it that.
"Sorry, I didn't mean that. I didn't want you to get into trouble." I smiled at him. He looked stunned as to the fact I was even talking to him.
"No-one in Malfoy's manor has ever spoke to Dobby with such kindness." He replied and I just wanted to hug the little guy. He was so sweet. He didn't deserve to be held in here. I was about to rip up my pillow case and give it too him when I heard Draco.
"Lucia?" Draco knocked on the door.
"Come in Draco." I replied, still smiling at Dobby who looked quite worried.
"You said you would teach me that leg locking curse, I want to use it on-" he stopped talking giving me a strange look, "Why are you talking to that?"
"I am talking to Dobby, because I wanted to. He was just helping me settle in weren't you Dobby?" I lied, Dobby nodding back to Draco.
"Yes. Yes Master Draco, just helping Miss settle in and get rid of spiders, Sir." He replied looking very guilty.
