Lyra took the Ruby Stone out of her bag, unwrapped the cloth, and said
“Well, another day, another successful quest.”
That was when a voice whispered
“Not quite…”
And a sunset orange tail came and snatched the Ruby Stone out of her hand.
“Hey!”
Lyra yelled. She spun around to see Serena hanging off a branch with one arm.
“Sunset Rose…”
Serena chuckled with a wicked smile, then said
“Well, well, well… It’s very nice to see you, Lyra. I haven’t seen you since you betrayed the Faunas and left the academy...”
“I didn’t betray them, I quit…”
Serena rolled her eyes and caressed the Ruby Stone with her tail and adored the red glistening shine.
“Say whatever you like. But after I use this lovely, beautiful, most amazing gem when the moon rises, I’ll use this to raise the sun and cause an eternal eclipse, use my shadow necklace, and become the most powerful Faunus ever! Also I think organized crime is terribly wrong.”
Lyra glared as she tried to reach for the Stone, but Serena lifted her tail to get it out of reach. Lyra sighed once more, then asked
“But why would you still work for them when you know that organized crime is wrong?”
“Many reasons, Lyra. Many reasons…”
Lyra jumped at her to get the Stone, but Serena used her magic to grab Lyra by her sprained wrist and twisted it slowly.
Lyra inhaled sharply with pain and breathed calmly to herself.
Serena cackled to herself
“Something wrong, Lyra? Your wrist seems to be in a bit of a ‘twist’ there…”
Lyra groaned, then said
“I know your evil, but that’s just a new low…”
Serena rolled her eyes, snapped her fingers, and said
“Grab her!”
Then in a flash, four tall, teenage male Faunus who seemed to be her henchmen, jumped from the shadows of the trees and grabbed Lyra with one hand holding onto each arm.
Struggling to get out, Lyra was kicking and almost screaming to distract them.
Serena giggled with an icy smile
“Now YOU’RE the one who can’t escape… Bring her in the torture room, now.”
