I stood up from my desk and walked over to where Joseph stood. I cleared my throat again and he turned to look at me.

"Olivia." He smiled, and I sighed.

"Mr. Hollister, why are you here?" I asked, and he smiled again as he reached out to touch my arm.

"Because I wanted to see my daughter. How are you doing?" He asked as if he's known me my whole life. He's known about me my whole life, but he hasn't and never will be a father to me.

"I'm warning you right now, Mr. Hollister, that if you do not remove yourself from this building right now and stay away from me we will arrest you and charge you with raping Serena Benson which caused severe mental and physical harm to myself," I spoke, and his eyes went wide.

"What?"

"Joseph Hollister, you are under arrest," I spoke, as I turned him around and handcuffed him. Ian came over and read him his rights before taking him to the elevator. I took a shaky breath before going to the stairs and running up them. I needed to talk to John about Ian so I don't get into more fights with my partner.

[*]

Every time my mother hit me or caused me any harm whether physical or mental, the five years would reset and be added up. Joseph could be charged up till my 35th birthday, but it came nearly 11 years early.

I needed to talk to Serena about this all, and hopefully, she'll open up to me.

"Serena?" I asked as I knocked on her apartment door for almost 10 minutes.

I opened the door with my key and found Serena on the couch sleeping. She didn't look like she had actually slept in her bed for a while, and clearly, Cynthia hadn't been here either because she's been working.

I knelt down next to Serena's head, and I gently pushed her dark brown hair out of her face before gently kissing her cheek. She woke up as I leaned back.

"Liv?" She whispered, and I smiled softly.

"We got him... he's in holding at my precinct and is going to be charged." I whispered. Her eyes closed tightly as several tears slipped down her cheeks.

"Mom," I whispered, which made the tears run down her cheeks quickly. I never call her Mom, but right now it was the right thing to call her. She's hurting and needs to know that both of her girls are here for her.

"I'm so sorry that I hurt you." She spoke, and I shook my head.

"You don't need to keep apologizing. Everything is okay now."

"It's been over five years, Liv. How can he even go to jail?" She asked as she sat up. I moved onto the couch and grabbed her hands and squeezed them gently.

"Because I was harmed... it's happened before. Someone was raped and they couldn't go to work or take care of their children and the men or man who did it to them went to jail and paid them to help with all the lost wages. But he's going to rot in jail, Mom. He's going to pay for what he did to you."

"To us." She whispered, before pulling me into a hug. I rubbed her back as she cried some more.

"Yeah, what he did to us."

[*]

Knowing that Simon and Joseph were off the streets made all of the weight I had on my shoulders fade away. Surprisingly, Ian and I started to get along more. He was getting closer to becoming a detective but that meant I would have to work with a new officer right out of the academy.

"I'm taking the test." Ian smiled, as he handed me a large coffee.

"An STD test?" I questioned, and he rolled his eyes as he sat down at his desk.

"No, the detective's test. It's because of how good I did during the Hollister cases." He grinned.

"Well, good for you." I smiled. He logged onto his computer before looking up at me.

"Are you gonna miss me?" He asked, and I shook my head.

"Nope. And you never know, maybe next year I'll get a great case and they'll promote me too." I smirked. He laughed before watching as an officer walked past and to her desk behind me. I looked at me and sighed.

"You are gonna start dating officers when you get promoted. You'll get them in trouble and they'll have to transfer because of your conceited ass." I sighed.

"I'm just excited and I might celebrate. But for now, let's go write some tickets. Break up a few dv calls." He smirked.

[*]

After working the rest of the day, I went home and was heading into our building as Elliot was. He grabbed my waist before I could unlock the front door and drew me into a kiss.

"How was work?" I asked as I blushed a bit. I moved out of the way of the door as an older couple walked out and chuckled at what they saw.

"Good. I'm so ready to get into our second year soon."

"Let just focus on getting through Christmas and New Years. Then we can focus on our second year on the force." I spoke. He was too eager to get done with being just a plain officer. He didn't seem to really know that it was important and that it was helping us grow into the detectives we want to be.

"Speaking of New Years..." He smiled, and once again I blushed.

"Our second anniversary is probably going to be spent working. Sorry."

"I don't care. Eventually, we can go home at night and spend our time together."

"Sure." I sighed. As we made it onto our floor, I saw Cynthia sitting in front of our door.

"Cy, what are you doing?" I asked, and she stood quickly and smiled at me.

"I just got accepted into medical school." She spoke, and my eyes went wide.

"You didn't tell me that you applied?!" I exclaimed, as I quickly hugged her.

"While, I didn't know if I should, but I applied when Dad was sick. But I just don't know how I'm going to tell Mom that I'm going to Boston to go to medical school." She sighed. But I smiled as we parted.

"Mom is probably in the best place she has ever been in her whole life. She's happy and she's sober. She has an active role in both of our lives. She'll be happy. She'll be so damn proud that her daughter is going to be a doctor."

"I'm gonna be a doctor." She smiled, before hugging me tightly again.

Now everyone is happy.
