CHAPTER 12

Naira was not someone who could be scared easily but Karthik's announcement about papa and chachu also against her was her worst nightmare.
  "Karthik I'll do anything please please. Papa aur chachu ko manao na. I'll listen to anything and everything. Shub please pretty please." Naira pleads. "Face it this time. I won't help." Karthik walks away and Shub just shrugs and walks with Karthik. "TRAITORS!" She shouts at them and sits with a thud.
   "Uff what a drama queen." Akshara laughs. "Actually aunty woh drama nahi kar rahi hai. Papa and chachu are with Naira for everything. Once she decided that jumping from the 7th step was easiest to reach Ansh from touching the fire. I was sitting right there and holding him but naah she had to jump and break her arm. Papa and Chachu were still supporting her. Agar woh kal yahan aa rahen toh there will be good entertainment for you. Enjoy." Keerti tells her.
    "Di, you know what? You will stay here with me. Ghar ja kar kya karenge? Ansh bhi rahega mere saath. I miss him. Aur kal aapka entertainment bhi hoga na." Naira suggests.
    "Yeh achi baath hai. Main na maa ko keh deti hoon ki sab rath ko yahin rukte hain. Karthik aur Shubam tum dono bhi rukh jao." Akshara says and calls Rajshri to inform her. "Early morning entertainment brought to you by Papa, Bade papa and Naira!" Shubam announces.
    They have a real fun time and decide to sleep in groups. The elders were in their rooms. The middle aged in a circle of their own and the younger ones in a circle. "Mumma main decide karoongi. Mamu, main, maami, Shub mamu, Mishti di, Gayu aapko kya bolun? Bua" Ansh asks to which she nods. "Mumma then Iron man. Ok now sleep." Ansh announces and they all lie down. Naira had Ansh sleeping on her which made it easier for her ti be close to Karthik.
   Keerti was usually a light sleeper but the long day she had made her sleep like a log. In the middle of the night everyone in the ground floor were woken up due to scream. "Ani!!! Please don't go. Please. Ansh Ansh." Naksh who was next to Keerti tried to wake her up. She was in a daze when she opened her eyes and saw Naksh.
   "Ani you stayed. No don't ever go anywhere please. I love you. Don't go." She mumbles hugging Naksh and drifts back to sleep. Ansh had be scared by the incident and Naira had taken him away to calm him. Naksh stayed still not knowing what to do when Naitik spoke.
    "Sleep like that itself. She has slept now and any movement might wake her up." Naksh just nodded and relaxed in that position. Strangely that felt right. It felt like home with her in his arms. Ansh had stopped crying but wanted to sleep with his mom. "Ironman can I sleep here. Mujhe mumma chahiye." Naksh smiles at the kid and sleeps hugging them both. He was home, he had found peace after years and didn't want to ever let go.
    Karthik had stayed silent throughout the whole thing while Shubam had disappeared. "Ek accident hua hai. I need to go." Shubam mumbles. "Shubam stay right there you aren't going anywhere." Karthik.tells him. "Beta he's a doctor they might need him." Varsha tells. "He is still searching for a job. Where did they call you? I'm your doctor now and you have been diagnosed with Escapism. We are all broken but you will stay and face it." Karthik tells him. "I can't see her like this. I need to go. I am angry with everything and each time I see her breakdown I fail as a brother. I'm the joker of the house I'm supposed to keep her happy and I fail doing that. How can I accept that?" Shubam cries. 
    "You keep her happy. Without you she won't be smiling 24 hours a day. That one hour she breakdown in a month is something you can't avoid. She loved jiju and always will and will always miss him. But you make it easier. When she cries just let her and you don't run." Karthik talks sense  to his brother.
    "You have work tomorrow. Keep your phone fully charged we need to record it. Brighten up kid." Marthik laughs and he smiles at him.
