I stared blankly at the ceiling that night. I looked over at Colton who was fast asleep. I smiled then got up slowly as not to wake Colton. I had walked downstairs to see Mitsuki and Sanctum asleep on the couch with a movie playing. I took the remote off Sanctum's lap when I noticed his armour. I may have been around him for most the afternoon but I never looked at his armour this close. I looked at it and noticed it had different sigils engraved in the ridges it almost looked like old mobian tongue. I studied it a year in college but not enough to decipher them on the spot. But if he let me I wouldn't mind trying to. I turned off the television and walked over to Dimitri's room where I found him still awake. "You nervous?" I asked leaning on his door frame. He looks up at me. "A little but I am actually more excited to duel Tikal. She promised me a finals duel." I look at him a little surprised he met Tikal. "How do you know, Tikal?" He immediately dug through his deck and I nearly fell in surprise seeing The Winged Dragon of Ra in his hand. "D-D-Dimitri!!! That's an egyptian god card!!!" I said, both amazed and confused. "Miss Tikal gave me it." He said looking at the card, smiling. I couldn't help but smile too. "Hey, Dimitri, how about a late night duel outback?" He looked at me with wide eyes "But Dad that kick one of us out of the finals!" I smiled at him. "I know." He looked like he was thinking. He looked at me and nodded. We went out back and i turned the field lights on. He took his place and I took mine. I saw his eyes glow with the passion I saw when me and Colton first dueled. "Game on!" We said in unison and drew five cards each. "I'll kick things off!" He said then looked at his hand. "I play one card face down in defence position then lay two cards face down and play Legacy of the Yata-Garusu to draw one card and end my turn!" He smirked and I drew one card. I had to be careful I know he has to have a trap card laid down. "I place a card face down in defense position then finish my turn laying down two more cards face down." He laughed to himself as he drew. "I place one card face down and play Dragunity Javelin in attack mode. Now I play my Dragons Rage exposing my face down as Dragunity Darkspear but Dragons Rage takes the difference of the attack of my attacking monster to the defense of my defense monster and allows me to use it as a direct attack on you and because my difference is 200 thats 200 life points of damage to you!" I growled as my lifepoint counter went from 8000 to 7800. "Alright, my move now." I drew and grin as I saw my D/D Cerberus and played it. "Alright Cerberus attack his Javelin!" I saw him laugh as his trap card activated. "Mirror force!" I growled knowing I was defenseless. "Your move." He drew. "I play Dragunity Legionnaire in attack position and attack you directly with each of my monsters meaning I do 3400 life points of damage. That leaves you at 4400 life points while I remain untouched. Oh and there's more I use my face down Icarus Attack that lets me tribute my Legionnaire to destroy two of your cards on the field. With that I end my turn." I growled slightly then sighed as I drew my next card. "I play Armageddon Knight in attack mode and destroy your Javelin ending my turn!" He glared me for that play but drew his card. "I play Armed Dragon LV3 in attack position. I end my turn by placing one card face down." I drew trying to figure out his plan. "I play Dark Grepher in attack position and use both my monsters to take out both of yours ending my turn." As if destiny wanted him to win he did the unthinkable. "I. Will. Not. Lose!!!" That dark side of him showed again as his body became dark crystals. "I sacrifice 4000 life points to play The Winged Dragon of Ra and take out your knight!" I was in complete shock that Obsidius took over but I had no choice but to fight now. "I draw and end my turn." There was nothing I could do to that god card. "Monster Reincarnation I discard the card from my hand to my grave only to summon it to play. Go Dragunity Arma Leyvaten!" It was over as I could see Arma is Dimitri's favorite card and one of his strongest Dragunity cards. "Take out his Grepher! Now Ra 4000 attack! I end my turn." I gulped slightly knowing this was it. I placed a hand on my deck. "I forfeit." As soon as I said it Dimitri was in charge once more. Just then a loud crash was heard from the street at the front of the house. Dimitri and I ran to the front and saw Melody and Colton. Melody looked exhausted as she dropped to her hands and knees. "The finals are a place for adults girl go back to the academy where you belong." The masked man said as Mitsuki ran out front with Sanctum at her side. "Y-You will f-fall to my brother, a-a-asshat." Melody groaned out in pain. "This is why you don't fight the power of my relic, girl. You're weak. Mephiles already beat that fox girl and now all that remains is one spot in the finals the blue fox there or the guardian Tikal." I ran to Melody only to get a foot to the face. "Fool! You yourself are a relic user! You should know its power will kill her if she exerts herself! Leave her be if you want her to live." I growled but sighed because he was right. "My name is Infinite. I'll see you around." He disappeared into thin air. Everyone was quiet "I forfeit." I heard Colton say and I was shocked. "Tikal is more qualified than I am to fight Mephiles and that Infinite guy. Plus, what's the point if I can't win?" Dimitri walked over and slapped him. "You are an idiot dad." The duel disk on Colton's wrist dinged with verification that he was out of the tournament.
The next day came. I saw both my dad's sitting in the stands. "I have to beat Mephiles to make it to the finals." I told myself. The slow paced hedgehog stepped on to the field. "The duel between Dimitri Gears and Mephiles Dark will now commence." Shadow said at the side of the field. "You seem tense wolf. What's the matter getting chills?!?!" Mephiles said laughing. "I won't lose to a freak like you!" I yelled readying my duel disk. We both yelled. "Let's duel!"
