I woke up to the sound of a upbeat song blaring from my phone.

"Screw this," I groaned, picking my phone up and looking at the time.

10:00

"You're kidding me. I forgot to turn my alarm off?" I slowly got out of bed, shutting off the alarm, and walked over to the door to my bathroom before stumbling in. I looked a mess.

My lavender hair drooped in my face and my eyes had bags under them. "How the frick frack snick snack could I have gotten more sleep than usual but look even more tired..."

I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and proceeded to get ready which only took about five minutes because I'm fast like that.

I walked downstairs and my brother saw me and yelled, "Hey Cotton-Candy Head," he beckoned me with a hand. "Mercury called and wants to meet you at the face tree, whatever the hell that is."

"Great, now I have another nickname? Flower child, cotton-candy head, unicorn brain, what's next? The Easter bunny?" I scoffed. He always called me such strange things, never my real name. I suppose he didn't like it...

"Actually yeah, I think, now go meet your M.I." He shooed me away before adding, "Mom won't be home for a while, and I'm going over to Eve's."

"Bye!" I didn't pay him mind. I needed to go find Mercury. The face tree was our serious meeting place, so I couldn't keep her waiting long.

Mercury had lavender hair like mine, but her's was more pinky as opposed to my more bluish tone. She had the same bright orange eyes, tall, skinny figure, and general traits as I do.

Needless to say she's my mirror image. My other half. We had different personalities but more or less were the same in most other things.

When I reached the tree I walked over to her happily before seeing the tears running down her face. "My parents received the letter..."
