Unexpected Bond

Chapter 5

2 Weeks Later

Khloe’s POV

              Man I swear there is never anything to watch on tv. The last two weeks have gone by so fast. I’ve been busy with my school work and trying not to stress over little stuff.

Things were still bad between Sean and I. We haven’t spoken since that day in the café. I guess I could take the blame for that because I’ve been avoiding being around him. Anytime I knew he was going to be around I just didn’t show up. Even though Sean and I don’t speak any more, I talk to Eric every single day. We hangout every chance we get. I guess you could say we really are best friends, but personally I view him more as a brother. Jenna and I weren’t as close as we used to be. She’s seems pretty distant lately. I don’t know what her problem is, but we're going to have to talk  about it eventually.

I snapped out of my thoughts when I felt someone poke my side.

“Hey! What was that for?”

Eric gave me a look of disbelief and said “that’s what you get for making me talk to myself for the last 5 minutes.”

I frowned and said “sorry. I was just thinking about how things have been the past few weeks.”

“Don’t worry about any of that right now. For right now just try to have fun with your amazing best friend. You’re ruining our movie night with you depressing attitude.”

“Your right! You have my full attention now bro. What were you trying to tell me before?” I said with a smile on my face.

“I said you should get dressed so we can go outside and enjoy this beautiful day. What you think? How about getting some ice cream and just lying outside on a blanket?”

I thought about it for a second and said “That sounds great!”

“Yea. And it should brighten your mood a little too.”

Eric was so amazing. I don’t know how my life would’ve turned out if I never met him. He’s the type of friend that everyone should have. His personality is out of this world and he has the ability to make anyone like him.

I smiled big and jumped on him.

“Did I tell you how amazing you are today?”

He pretended to think about for a minute and then said “No. I don’t think you did, but it’s always nice to hear.”

I smiled brightly and said “You Eric Donavan are AMAZING.”

He smiled at me and pushed me off the bed. I landed with a thump on the floor and groaned. I rubbed my butt while I stood up and said “Hey! What was that for? I say something nice and I get pushed off the bed?”

He laughed at my facial expression and said “Well one I already asked you to get dressed and you made no attempts to move, so I decided to give you a head start. And two your comment was too cute, and was making me feel all mushy like a punk, so I had to do something mean to end the moment.”

I looked at him with my mouth open. How are you supposed to respond to something like that? It was pretty amusing because he was completely serious. I couldn’t hold it in anymore and started dying laughing. Eric looked at me like I was crazy at first, but soon joined in on my laughing too.

“Remind me to never say anything overly nice to u again.”

He laughed and said “You got it dude.”

I just shook my head and went in the bathroom to get dressed. When I was done getting dressed I checked myself out in the mirror before going back into the room.
