I never  dreamed of going to a palace. My dreams always consisted of  things I had to do the next morning like chores or something. I know that sounds boring and that every other girl dreamed of being a princess at least once in their lifetime, but that's not me. So when the opportunity arrived you can probably imagine what I said in that moment. I said "no way "and then I gave that opportunity a long list of reasons exactly why I said it, but my family had different ideas. You see, they said that I always did things for other people including them, and nothing for myself. When I explained that I could do something else for myself and that I didn't want this, they wouldn't hear it.  So here I am, on my way to our capital city and into the home of the Royal family, including the Crown Prince, Xander. To be honest, I think he is kind of inadequate with a lot on his plate, what with him going to step up and rule the country.  When I got to the front gate of the palace, the guards let me in, along with someone to carry my luggage up to my room. The foyer was huge with spiral staircases on either side that led up to the second floor which was where I would be staying. In the middle, on top of the ceiling, was a large chandelier made of diamond glass. I have never seen anything like it before and I couldn't believe my eyes. That's when the  head administrator of the palace walked up to me and said, " and you are-" "Oh. Sarah Smith, the royal family wanted an event singer so here I am." The Head administrator looked at me like I was lying.  " You are the new event singer?" "Yes."  She sighed. " Follow me."  She led me up the left spiral staircase to a hallway with various paintings and vases. "Your room is right at the end of this hall." she said. When I opened the door, I gasped at what I saw. A huge room with a massive four poster bed and a balcony that overlooked the garden. Then I saw the stage. There was a grand piano in the corner and a stand with a silver microphone in it. But that wasn't all. There was also a violin and a flute there too. All of the instruments that I could play, right there in my room! "Thank you." I said to the head administrator, who's name, by the way, was Ivette. She then told me that I would be assigned three maids, then she left me to unpack. It was going to be a big change in my life but in the end, maybe I made the right choice?

I would just like to thank everyone who helped me write this. I got the idea from Kierra Cass' "The Selection Series." Thank you for reading this and I hope you enjoyed it. I will start working on the next chapter tomorrow. I would also like to recognize some people who came up with the names and the job that she has, so thank you to Kiwi_Kitty3210  and wifi-loves-me. I totally recommend reading their stories because they are awesome! Stay tuned for chapter 2
