The Path To Heaven Runs Through Miles Of Clouded Hell

Part 10

I woke up in the same dark and dingy room. what do I do? I don't know where charley is, I don't have my phone, and I missed the concert yesterday.

I turned my head and noticed a knife on the table. I rolled over to grab it. I bit it and put it under me to cut off the rope I was tied with.

I cut it off and then cut off the rope on my ankles. I got up and put on my clothes and got out the window. I ran as fast and as far as I could until I recognized the road I was on.

I ran down it and I found a pay phone. luckily there was change on the floor. I picked it up and put it into the phone. I called Daniel.

"Aja? oh my god! where are you? I've been so worried! I tried to contact the police but they said it was only a missing person after 24 hours!"

"Daniel! I'm at the liquor store! please come fast!"

"Ill be right there!" I sat inside of the liquor store and waited for Daniel.

I saw his car pull up and I ran up to it. he got off the car and ran up to me.

"I love you so much! I was so worried!" he hugged me and grabbed my face gently.

"What happened to you?"

"Ill explain later lets just go home!"

We got in the car and drove home. when I walked in all they guys hugged me.

Wayne came up to me. "are you okay? I was so worried!"

Ben came up to me. "Aja hon what happened to your face?"

Then dan came up to me. I could tell he was crying. his eyes were red and puffy. and his nose was red. he hugged me so tightly and I hugged him back.

"I'm so sorry Aja! I said I would protect you!" we both started crying.

"It's not your fault!" we hugged for I don't know how long. when he finally let me go, emptiness filled my body.

He was warm and I felt his love for me.

Daniel took me into the room. Dan tried to grab my hand but Daniel pulled me away to quickly.

We went into the room and talked about what happened. I told him the story and I didn't feel comforted. when I hugged dan, I felt safe. when I hugged Daniel I still felt scared.

I let him go and we went down to the living room. I sat across from dan. we stared at each other. finally he came up to me and kissed me. I kissed him back passionately. I never felt so good and safe in my life.

He pulled away and looked at Daniel. he looked sad.

"I'm sorry Daniel"

"I know you still love him. I know you love me too but you love him more"

"I'm sorry"

"Don't be. you guys are meant to be together, ill find someone else"

I hugged Daniel "You'll find someone amazing! some one a hell of a lot better than me!"

He gave me one last kiss on the cheek. "go with dan" I turned around and grabbed dans hand. he looked happy even though he wasn't smiling.

I hugged dan again. we sat on the couch.

"Aaaw! so cute!" Ben said jokingly.

"I'm not in the mood Ben!"

"Sorry"

"Aja can you tell me what happened?"

"Yeah, well I was at the venue rehearsing, when I heard someone call out my name. so we stopped playing and I saw charley. he came up to me and tried to kiss me. I pulled away and we had an argument and then he pulled me into his car. he tied me up and he-" tears ran down my cheek. "he raped me. he got me drunk and I passed out. when I woke up charley was gone and I grabbed a knife that was next to me and cut the rope and I got out the window and ran as fast as I could"

I hugged Dan. I probably soaked his shirt in tears. "I'm so sorry Aja! Why did he hit you?"

"I was screaming and he hit me to shut me up"

"I'm so sorry! ill find him! when I do ill kill him!"

"No! dan stop! as long as I'm with you ill be safe"

"You didn't do the concert huh?"

"No I have one later today do you wanna come?"

"I would love to"

"Guys?"

"Yeah?"

"You wanna come too?"

"Of course!" we all smiled.

"Aja?" I turned to Daniel.

"I'm sorry I didn't protect you. I know I should've. I was stupid not to. I just want you to know that I love you more than anything. I'm sorry" he put the matching promise ring I bought him on the table.

I looked into his eyes. I saw sadness. he makes me feel terrible. I took off mine too.

"Now we can both not be wearing any"

He smiled weakly. dan grabbed my hand and put something on it. I looked down at my finger. it was the ring he had given me when we got married.

I smiled

"Thank you"

I looked back at Daniel. "we can still be friends right?"

"Of course!"

"Thanks I love you as a friend"

"I love you too" I hugged him again and me and dan went to bed.

We laid in bed. "I knew you two weren't gonna last. you love me too much"

"I was planning to stay with Daniel, but when charley kidnapped me I was scared and your the only one who makes me feel safe. I mean don't get me wrong Daniel makes me feel great in other ways but safe is not one of them."

"I'm sorry I didn't protect you like I promised"

"It isn't your fault anyway goodnight"

"Goodnight"
