It was a dark and stormy night....phtt yeah right! That's not what this story is going to start out like, trust me. But let's start from REAL beginning....the beginning of the end of peace.

I was at my friend Stacie's house. We have been friends for as long as I can remember. Even though she can be a pain, I need her and she needs me as much as we both don't want to admit. XD. We are best friends and no one will ever change that. But that is beside the point. Very far besides the point.

"Hey Stacie can you walk me home?" I begged with my adorable puppy dog face. I've been working and perfecting this face long before I met her.

"No Jenna I'll get grounded!! I thought I told you this before! You are 15 and should be able to walk yourself home," The truth is, she actually told me this about 1,000 times, but I didn't have the guts to admit it. (Bye the way, my name is Jenna!)

"Ugh, fine!" I said with disappointment. There is no point in arguing when you already know the outcome: losing. Losing is pretty much what I'm known for. I never win anything, and that's not an exaggeration. I intend to keep my losing streak on a roll.

So as I walked home, I heard some ones eerie footsteps behind me. You know, the kind where the steps are really soft, but still soft enough to here. Creepy right? The weird thing was, no one was there.

Now I know you're thinking "oh wow, this is going to be so classic! Just to have someone pop out of no where? Been there, done that."

Truth is, just about every one has been there done that. But this time is a little different.

So when I turned around (obviously) there was no one there. "Yeah okay, what ever" I told myself. So I kept walking. So what if I pick up the pace, I need some exercise anyways.

But the more I thought about the footsteps, the more worried and frightened I got. I'm usually not creeped out easily.

Then I heard something fall. It was an extremely hard fall as well, If I do say so myself. No, not like one of those cheap plastics dummy fake movie falls. I'm talking about like some one hit the pavement face first from 20 feet in the air! Thats what it sounded like. Now I'm starting to get a little more frightened...I don't like it one bit.

As I hesitantly walked on, I tripped, and shrieked like a total doofus. I'm not very clumsy either so it struck me as odd that I would have fallen. But I didn't trip on my feet.

I tripped on something. No, not a rock, but something almost human like. It was squishy when I stepped on it. It had a certain hardness to it as well.

I looked around and I saw someone's small, frail, and pale arm sticking out from the bushes, fingernails painted red. I looked for a body and sure enough, that's what I found. Once I saw the worn converse shoes poking out from the bottom of the bushes, I made a beeline for my house.

I screamed as loud as I could but stayed quiet, for I feared I would wake up my neighbors with complaints to my family. With that notion in my head, my screaming ended quite quickly.

I ran back home faster than I had ever run in my life! I ran into my peaceful and what once was quiet house and yelled for my mom eagerly. She came moping down the stairs in her pink and blue night gown. My dad got this as a gift for her on Mother's Day a while back. She loves it, holes and all.

"There is a body outside our house mom!!" I screamed with excitement. No, not good excitement.

"That's great honey, good night" she mumbled through her almost closed lips. It's as if she wasn't listening. Maybe her acting skills from high school just really paid off.

"You think this is a joke?! Mom I'm not kidding!! Please Come help! I don't want to be the one to drag it to the grave yard," I said worriedly.

"Good night Jenna" she said as if she was half asleep. She had so much care in her voice. Like she could hear the words I spoke, but just couldn't comprehend them. It was definitely an odd encounter.

I went to Stacie's house and knocked on the door so fast, and so hard that my knuckles started to turn red, then white from squeezing my hand so hard from the adrenaline. Her mom answered the door.

"Hey, is Stacie there? She forgot something at my house a couple nights ago." Hey it was the best I could come up with in 5 seconds time.

"Sorry Jenna, she left to look for you. It seemed very urgent."

Her mother was always very nice and caring to me. There was a pit in my stomach from the guilt of having to wake her up so late at night.

"Alright thank you," I said almost out of breath. Running always wears me out, but not this much. The farthest I've ran in my life was a mile. I never would have thought running between two houses would even begin to equal a mile.

Everything in this seemed to be out of place. Even though Stacie isn't supposed to walk me home, she usually ends up doing it anyway. She has always been this way. She bends and twists the rules until they work for her.

She always finds a loop hole in everything. As losing is my thing. Finding loopholes is hers. She is very clever and smart; when you are good at everything, it's hard not to be so good at breaking rules. She does this Especially for the ones she loves. Stacie has always been a dare devil.

Everyone has these friends, but Stacie always takes things to the next level. Sometimes she takes them too far. I love her, but some of the things she does could get her killed.
