MarcusMy body shifted to my side as I absentmindedly grabbed my phone off the bed side table.
The brightness of the screen temporarily blinded me adding in the efforts to wake me up. The time read 5:30AM, I had to be at the school by 6:30 to begin early morning workouts.
We had a game tonight and I was already pumped for it. The season just started and we have already won our first three games. I'm prepared to have an undefeated season.
I rose from the bed groggily and headed for the shower, I quickly got in and began my morning routine. After getting out of the of the shower I put on my workout out gear and made my way down the stairs.
My house was basically empty as my parents worked all the time and barely had the time to even stay at the house. They still tried to come home ever chance that they got and even attended a few of my games.
My parents were both lawyers, fighting cases for famous people. Most people don't know this about me and I like to try to keep it that way.
I know for a fact people would try to befriend me because of the status of my parents and I don't need that level of fakery in my life.
I packed my sports bag with my equipment also remembering to grab my actual bag before stepping out of the house.
I drove a matte black G Wagon, it was a gift from my father after he heard I made the team in freshman year.
Well, it would have been more of a gift if he were there to actually give it to me. I remember going outside and seeing it with a bow wrapped around it.
A note was attached to it saying 'Good Job Sport!'
It was a nice gesture because it was my dream car but it would have felt even more meaningful if he was here to give it to me.
I arrived at the school and went straight for the locker room to change.I played as a wide receiver on the team, I was the guy who would score points but never get anything in return.
It's weird I would make about half of the goals and get no recognition because it was me. Not that I really wanted it but I guess it was kinda backwards since the players who were well known got all the praise but didn't really score anything.
Like I said, people typically ignored me, when school came around we went back to our lives and I became the freak that plays football once again.
Things are better this way. I avoided more drama and stayed out of as much trouble as I could.
As I entered the locker room the rest of the team
walked around in their uniforms and chatting about the usual; girls, sex, sport related things."-yeah, she's hot, but have you seen the new girl?" Brett our star kicker announced, most of the guy's attention went to him which only made him continue to talk.
"She's the hottest girl I've ever seen in my life," the guys around him laughed and brushed him off.
I knew that they were talking about Saya since she's the only 'new girl', at this point she's been here at least a week.
"Yeah right, I bet she's like all the other bitches," another voice rang from behind me, I didn't bother looking to see. "All stuck up and ran through." Most of the boys laughed and slapped him on the back.
"Oh, so you don't believe me?" Brett exclaimed with a smirk on his face. I watched as he grabbed his phone from his locker and started to type away.
"Here's her Instagram, look at this and tell me she isn't the hottest in the entire school," they all peaked at his phone and left with their jaws hanging.
I rolled my eyes in annoyance.
"I'm going to get so deep in her she's not gonna know what happened," the boys in the room snickered except for me.
My head snapped up before walking right over to Brett.
I walked quickly right into his face, "What did you just say?" I asked in the calmest tone I could muster.
"Bro, get this kid out of my face," he waved me off and tried to walk away.
I pushed him back into the locker and held him there, I stood a good two inches taller than this guy.
"I asked you a question, so if you don't want problems just answer it," I replied sternly, I don't know where this sudden confidence came from.
"I said that I'm going to hit that, I'm gonna beat it so good that she'll be screaming my name in her sleep." He answered with a smirk.
I let go of his frame and took a few steps back.
"I knew you were all talk, coming up to me like you were about to-"
I rocked his shit, I punched him right in the face. I bet he wasn't expecting that.
His body dropped to the ground instantly, I stepped over him and back over to my area. The rest of the locker room remained silent. My mind was racing, but the anger in my body remained.
I laced up my cleats and grabbed my jersey from my locker. Brett's nose bled profusely, but his body laid still in its unconscious state. I stepped over him again and left the locker room without another word.
He can't just be talking about my girl like that, or any girl for that matter. My body began to shake as I replayed the moment in my head.
I am so ready for this practice today.
