Live around me

But not through me, because I want you to be your own person

Jump over me

But not on top of me, because stepping on people is a painful thing

Walk behind me

But not next to me, because I want you to learn from my mistakes

While I stay a pace with my own beat

Write poetry

Not nonsense

Think independently

Not socially

You call these letters

But I call them philosophies

You say, “Model”

But I say, “Pin Up”

You say, “CD”

And I say, “LP”

Your hand is always down

But mine is always up, because questions are a beautiful thing.

You say, “Handcuffs”

But I say, “Shackles” because they put more of a limit on mans abilities

You say you’re religious

And I scream, “ Blasphemy”

You say you’re an independent thinker

So I ask you, “What does the Swatchka truly mean?”

You put on your snap back

While I put on my fedora

You say, “Rap or Hip-Hop”

And I say, “Folk or Indie music please”

You laugh at me because I eat with chop stick.

While you gulp down pounds of food with your spoon

You put on your Jordan’s or Nikes

While I put on my Casual shoes

You say, “Bitch”

But I say, “Woman”, because she’s a beautiful elegant being.

You say, “I’m not black”

And I say, “You’re right I’m just a normal human being”

Peace
