"Nikk!" I glanced up at the clock, too tired to read the blurry numbers."Nikkole!" My mom yelled again.
'What the heck is this girl doing! She's about to be late for her first day of senior year!'
Hearing this, I jumped out of bed, finally coming to terms with the situation, as my history teacher would say.
Let me explain.
I'm able to read people. When I read people, it's like I have a second voice inside my head and I get a slight headache. Ever since I can remember I've had this weird ability to read minds. But I'm not complaining 'cause it comes in handy, like now.
I jumped to the closet, grabbing the first tee and jeans I could find. I had no time to shower, being that I was already off schedule. It took forever to comb the tangled bronze, golden highlighted mess you call hair. I stared at my pale complexion in the mirror, not sure if I should put on eye liner to make my unusual purple eyes pop out. If you're asking why I don't just wear contacts, do you know how much they cost?!
'It's a first impression. Probably should.' Now I just needed a ride to school.
'Mom. Nope. Knowing her I'd probably be safer letting a monkey drive. Ugh! I'll have to take the bus!' I dashed downstairs and ran to the closest stop hoping it's was the right one and that I wasn't late too. I couldn't believe I over slept!
