CHAPTER ONE - COMES A SURGE

ALL OUT LOUD FROM THE FORECAST THAT AN UPCOMING LOW PRESSURE WILL EVENTUALLY TURN TO A STORM WHEN ARRIVED IN THE PHILIPPINE SEAS. TO BE BELIEVED THAT THIS WILL BE ONE OF THE STRONGEST TYHPOONS THAT WOULD ENTER OUR COUNTRY. WELL, MY FAMILY HAVE BEEN THROUGH LOTS OF TYPHOONS THOUGH THAT'S WHY WE ALWAYS HAVE TO PREPARE ABOUT THIS UPCOMING STORM. MY MOTHER BROUGHT GROCERIES FROM THE NEAREST STORES AROUND THE CITY. MY DAD IS BUSY ADJUSTING OUR VEHICLES INCASE WATER COMES TO RISE SO IT WON'T CAUSE TOO MUCH DAMAGE IN ITS INTERIORS. WELL I COULDN'T FIND MY BROTHER AROUND, PROBABLY HE'S NOT HOME. AND I'M BUSY DOING MY OVERTIME WORK ESPECIALLY I HAVE DEADLINES TO MEET.

HERE'S ANOTHER THING. I COULDN'T CONCENTRATE IN FINISHING MY WORK. I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ELSE BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT. MY MOTHER IS ALMOST DONE WITH THE KITCHEN WORKS SO PROBABLY SHE WOULD JUST ASK ME TO LEAVE OR FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO DO. I HAD AN OPT TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE UNTIL I REALIZED DAD'S STILL FIXING MY CAR. AND I WOULDN'T DARE RUSH HIM ANYWAYS. THEN I'M GOOD AS STUCK AT HOME. SO I DECIDED TO GO TO THE LIVING ROOM AND OWNED THE WHOLE PART OF THE COUCH, GRABBED THE REMOTE AND SWITCHED ON THE THE TV. SAME CHANNEL PERHAPS. WEATHER CHANNEL.

"UPDATES ABOUT THE LPA FOUND SOUTH EAST OF PHILIPPINE SEA, EVERYTHING TURNED OUT THAT FAST THAT ANY OF FORCASTERS COULDN'T FIND A GRIP ON THIS.", I COULD SEE A WORRIED FACE IN HER, THE ONE IN THAT BREAKING NEWS. LIKE ANOTHER UNIQUE STORM GONNA HIT THE LAND, "NOW THAT THE STORM IS RUNNING 80KM/H, WE ADVISE TO THE RESIDENTS OF THE AFFECTED AREAS TO STAY HOME, KEEP SUPPLIES AND MAKE SURE YOUR PHONES ARE ALL ACTIVE INCASE OF ANY ERRANDS. ANOTHER THING ABOUT THIS STORM IS THAT IT  ACTUALLY HAD IT'S OWN ROUTE. LIKE IT KNOWS WHERE TO END AND THAT IS IN WEST PHILIPPINE SEA."

OUT FROM NOWHERE, I REALIZED MY PHONE HAD BEEN RINGING QUITE SEVERAL TIMES. IT'S NIKAH THAT HAD BEEN CALLING ME. THEN I HAD TO GET THIS CALL FROM HER. "HEY BABE. SUP?", I ANSWERED HER WITH JOY. "BABE. I'M GONNA CELEBRATE SOMETHING TOMORROW. I KNOW IT'S ALL OF THE SUDDEN ESPESCIALLY THIS EFIN STORM COMIN' BUT I REALLY WANT TO YOU GUYS THERE WHEN I'M GONNA MAKE MY ANNOUNCMENT. YOU, HELEN, MARIS AND REINA ARE MY BEST GALS EVAH.", LIKE SHE SAID IT THAT FAST WITH LESS THAN A MINUTE. "YOU OUT YOUR MIND BABE? HAVEN'T YOU HEARD THE NEWS HOW STRONG THE STORM IS? YOU UP TO BE BLOWN AWAY WITH THIS STORM AREN'T YOU?". "JUST COME TOMORROW PLEASE. LIKE A HUNDRED THOUSAND OF PLEASE TO CONVINCE YOU. AND I'M GONNA DROP THIS CALL NOW SO I WOULDN'T HERE YOUR NO'S. SEE YOU TOMORROW.", AND SHE DROPPED THE CALL. BRILLIANT. TOMORROW WILL LAND THE STORM IN OUR CITY. AND SHE DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME WHERE TO GO.

IN A MATTER OF SECONDS, MY PHONE VIBRATED, RECEIVING A MESSAGE FROM NIKAH OF THE VENUE WHERE SHE'S GONNA MAKE AN ANNOUNCMENT. I WONDER NOW, HOW IMPORTANT IS THIS TO HER. I MEAN SHE'S SO DETERMINED. SOOO DETERMINED THAT SHE EVEN IGNORED THE WORST WEATHER EVER. WHAT I'M GONNA DO ABOUT THIS. MY PARENTS WON'T LET ME OUT FOR SURE. DAMN YOU NIKAH. AND SO I DECIDED TO COME.

THE WIND FROM THE OUTSIDE BLOWS QUITE STRONG THAN THE USUAL. BRANCHES OF THE TREES HAVE BEEN BENDING SEVERAL TIMES. THE STORM HAD ARRIVED. WEARING MY NEW AND ALL TIME WHITE LACE DRESS AND  4 INCH HIGH HEELS. NATURAL COLOR MAKE UP MADE ME LOOK RADIANT. MY HAIR WITH A WHITE RIBBON LACE ON IT. SO BEAUTIFUL. OBVIOUSLY I DIDN'T REALLY PLANNED THIS THE WHOLE NIGHT. IT HAS BEEN QUITE A WHILE SINCE I ESCAPED THE HOUSE. LAST TIME I DID WAS WAY BACK IN MY COLLEGE DAYS ACTUALLY. AND NOW I'M GONNA DO IT AGAIN. LUCKILY, IN THIS COLD WEATHER MY PARENTS STAYS INSIDE THEIR ROOM. MY BROTHER BUSY PLAYING COMPUTER GAMES ALSO INSIDE HIS ROOM. IN THIS SITUATION, I'M NOT ALLOWED TO USE MY CAR, THEY WOULD ACTUALLY CAUGHT ME ON ACT. SO WHAT I DID, I MADE A TAXI CAB WAIT FOR ME OUTSIDE OUR HOUSE. NOT ACTUALLY OUTSIDE THE HOUSE, AROUND, LET'S SAY 10 METERS AWAY PERHAPS. COME TO THINK MY OUTFIT PLUS THE WEATHER EQUALS PERFECTION.
