Prologue

"Ladies and gentlemen welcome to Planet Ice skating rink in Vancouver on National Ice Skating contest. Today we are going to see many skaters, but the main programme here is going to be ice dancing contest between Tom Young and Mark Chan. They are going to compete for title of Canadian master. Tom Young is coming in here first, with song What a feeling by Irene Cara. Here he comes, very nice rythm, beautiful moves and great technique. And here comes his first pirouette, followed by second one and coming to the third.... Oh my God! Tom fell on the ice! Oh my God! I can't believe it! Tom is down! He struggles to get up. There are paramedics coming in on the ice. We can see Tom limping from the ice as paramedics help him to get behind the barrier... There is some blood over the place he fell down. He is now sitting on the bench behind the barrier surrounded by paramedics! This must have hurt. Definitely. His parents are coming to him. We haven't got a report from the place yet, but I am sure, that he is not going to continue. Oh! I can see, that judges disqualified him already! He is not allowed to continue! He is looking at the scoreboard and judging by his expression he is extremely sad. Oh God!... He has blood all over his mouth and it seems, that he lost a tooth there.
He is standing up from the bench right now! He is being supported by paramedic and his father. He is coming back to the ice. He is approaching middle of the ice. He stops there! He litterally just stopped in the middle of ice. He is taking off his skates, still in the middle! He ties his laces together! He lifts his skates above the head! He is slowly spinning to show them off?!....
He drops them to the ice!
Tom drops his skates!
Big fans of ice skating and ice dancing know, what does that mean. He quits.
Tom Young just quit ice dancing!
