Chapter thirteen

Alex pov

It's been pretty awkward since I've kissed Shawn and hooked up with skylar. I've been seeing skylar for a while now. She's honestly the best. I haven't been this happy with someone since mason.

I walked in to school and saw skylar "hey." I said and she smiled "hey you." She said "you work tonight?" She asked and I forgot that I had the night shift today at the restaurant. "Yeah." I sighed. "I know that it sucks but a jobs a job huh?" She said and I nodded and the bell rung. "See you at lunch?" She said "I'm sitting with the guys and Bri if you want to join?" I said "you sure it won't be awkward?" "Not at all." I said grabbing her hand "Alright then." She said and I pecked her lips and we went our separate ways.

Lunch

"What's up fools?" I said sitting down at the table "hey" they all said. "So I kind of invited skylar to sit with us." I said "it's cool." Matt said "skylars so pretty. I'm jealous." Bri said "cant believe you got her and Shawn didn't after he's been trying since freshman year." Brian said laughed. "Yeah..." Shawn said keeping his head low playing with his food.

I saw skylar standing and looking around for me. "Be right back" I said and went up to sky. She sighed once she saw me. "I thought I looked like an idiot looking for you." She laughed softly and then pecked my lips. I grabbed her hand and we walked to the table. "Guys this is skylar, skylar this is the guys. That's Matt, Brian and you know Shawn, and then that's Bri." I said and they all waved hi to each other. We sat down at the table and ate lunch. Shawn checked his phone. "Uh, I gotta go." He said and got up and left. "He doesn't like me huh?" Sky said "what? No. It's just.. things are awkward right now." I said. "He wouldn't look at me once." She said.

"It's kind of been awkward since the day you came to drop off my bra.." I said and she laughed softly. "Yeah I expected you to open the door and I had a nice line ready to Woo you over with and then I saw him." She said and we laughed. "So how long has this been going on?" Matt asked "since the ski lodge trip." Sky said "wow.." Brian said and sipped his milk. "What?" I said "nothing. I'm happy for you guys." He smiled. "The three of us should hang out one day." Bri smiled "I'm down." Sky said "me too." I smiled and the bell rung and we threw our trash away.

I looked for Shawn to talk to him and I saw him kissing Anna and I hid behind the lockers. "Real smooth Mendes, Real smooth." I said and then Sky came up behind me "you're spying on him?" She said "no. I just happened to be here at the same time and watching him." "So spying?" She said "if that's what you want to call it." I shrugged "dang is he trying to swallow her?" She said and I snickered. The warning bell rung signaling there was 60 seconds left until we're late to class and they pulled away and Sky pinned me up against the locker and slammed her lips into mine. I pulled away and looked at her confused. "He gave us a show, we give him one." She said and I rolled my eyes and pecked her lips. I looked and saw Shawn looking at us and then turning away walking back to class. "Shit. Ima be late. I'll see you later?" I said and she nodded and I ran to class.

Last Bell finally rung and I sighed in relief cause I was so bored in physics. I grabbed my stuff and walked out. I met up with the guys. "Burgers?" Shawn asked and we all nodded and Shawn took us to the burger joint he took me to when we first got to know each other.

We all sat down and ordered shakes and our burgers. Our food finally came and we all started eating. "You know, it's just not as good as the ones we got during the trip." Matt said. "How's the food?" The waiter came by "great thank you so much." Matt said and we all looked at Matt confused. The waiter walked away "what? I can't tell them it was terrible." He said and I laughed. "How's you and skylar?" Shawn asked. "Good. How's you and Anna?" I said bitting a fry "what?" "You heard me." I said. "We're good. We're just friends." He said. "Interesting." I said and then coughed. "Anyways, Brian how was your day?" "Lovely I-" "what do you mean interesting? Is there something you want to say?" Shawn said cutting off Brian.
