Ichika POV
It was a week after the Silver Gospel incident and the girls and I were in Chifuyu's office. She wanted to tell us something important.
Chifuyu: What I am about to tell you is confidential and must not leave this room. Is that understood?
All: Yes Ma'am!
Chifuyu: Ok, we have discovered a secret research facility in the forest of Japan. We have reason to believe that it is connected to the IS known by the nickname "The Red Comet".
Charlotte: I've heard about that IS, it was first spotted over the Atlantic Ocean.
Chifuyu: Yes that is the one. At its first sighting attempts at communication proved useless, the pilot, however, did send a message to the squad that found it.
Houki: What did it say?
Chifuyu: I'll pull up the recording.
Chifuyu typed some things into her computer before she backed away. Then the sound of the IS pilots came out.
IS pilot #1: Ma'am we have a visual on the unknown IS, it appears to be floating in mid-air.
Commander: Can you establish a communication link?
IS pilot #2: Negative Ma'am the pilot has refused to- Wait a second Ma'am I'm receiving an audio message from the IS.
Commander: What did they send?
IS pilot #2: Playing message now.
???: *distorted* An audience? Are you here for the performance?
The voice was distorted beyond recognition, not giving any hint to the age or anything that might tell who the pilot is.
Commander: What kind of message is that?
IS pilot #1 I don't know Ma'am, but the IS is looking directly at us now. They recognized that we are here. Do we engage?
Commander: Negative. I repeat Negative. We don't know anything about this IS so, for now, fall back.
IS pilot #1 Roger that. *turns to partner* Let's go, were ordered to-
IS pilot #2: Look out! Here comes the IS!
The unknown IS charges at the two pilots at incredible speed, and when the IS reached them the video cut out.
Chifuyu: This is the kind of problem we're dealing with. We have no information on this IS, so I asked Tabane to examine it.
Tabane: Hey, hey! Well, this IS is a problem. I don't have a lot of information on it either. All I know is that it uses fold-out armor like Ichika and Houki's IS.
Ichika: But, wouldn't make it a fourth generation?!
Tabane: Yes, yes. It would.
Chifuyu: That's why we are sending extra squads on this mission with you. We don't know what's going on in there or if it really is connected to the Red Comet, but id it is, I want you to find out as much as possible about the IS and it's pilot. And if possible, capture the pilot.
Ichika: We'll get right on it!
Chifuyu: Very good. The mission will begin later today. You may leave.
We saluted and left the room, while we were heading to our rooms to get ready I could hear the girls talking about the IS.
Cecilia: Do you no anything else about the IS Charlotte?
Charlotte: I'm afraid not. Besides that video, there's no real footage of it, only sightings.
Laura: Hmm... We'll just have to see during the mission then.
