"What the hell, Iz?" Simon took two steps forward and picked up Maia's limp body and carried her to the couch. "Can you get me a wet towel please?" he asked Jade who nodded and sprinted into the kitchen.
"That was unnecessary." Alec spoke quietly to his sister, sounding a bit mature and uncharacteristic.
"Oh come on, I wasn't the only one who wanted to do it." Izzy said and both Celia and Brittany nodded their heads.
"We can't have you flying off the handle like that, Iz. We all need to stay level headed-"
"Are you freaking kidding me?" Izzy snapped. "She was dead! You can't honestly think she survived a dagger to the heart!"
"We need to think a little more rationally about this-" Alec started only to get interrupted again.
"Rationally?" Izzy stared at her brother. "Rationalize the fact that she's here and alive."
"She can't be." Clary snapped out of her trance. "There's no way. I saw the dagger hit her."
"Finally!" Izzy threw her arms in the air. "Someone who understands my confusion."
"Confusion doesn't give you the right to hit someone, Iz." Simon said. Then he muttered under his breath, "Or I would've punched every single Shadowhunter a long time ago."
"No, but trust issues do. I don't trust her." Izzy said crossing her arms and clicking the heel of her boot onto the floorboards.
Jade came in with a towel and Simon put it on Maia's jaw. "That doesn't matter right now." Jade spoke up. "Look I don't know what happened before we showed up, but obviously this girl is alive and here for some strange reason. We need her to tell us why. You don't have to trust her, you don't even have to like her, but you have to act like you do until she tells us what we need to do."
After a long pause, Izzy unfolded her arms. "Fine." She said grudgingly. She almost stomped out of the room before spinning around quickly. "You're all lucky I'm a good actress." And ran upstairs to her room, slamming the door closed.

"Do you almost have it?" Jace asked for the millionth time.
Tessa threw her arms up in the air, letting the shackles cling on the floor. "This is impossible! I don't have anything to use-" she stopped mid sentence. "Unless." She rummaged through her pockets until she pulled out something and curled it into the palm of her hand.
"Unless?" Jace asked.
Tessa's nose scrunched up in concentration and in a blink of an eye, she was changing. Her features morphed from feminine to masculine even adding a thick black mustache. Her eyes turned a dark brown color and her hair shrunk until it was a mop of brown oily strands on top of her- his- head. There was a handle of a small pocket knife sticking out from his stomach and blood pooling down his tight green shirt and onto his black pants.
Tessa quickly removed the handle of the knife and wiped the blood on his pants. Then he stuck the tip of the knife into the keyhole of the cuffs. He had actually managed to click the first one off when there was a loud pop.
The mans face contorted and Tessa reclaimed her true form. Jace had a split second to catch the fainting girl. Her green shirt now had fresh blood, real blood, dripping off her pale skin. She looked stunned and scared and Jace couldn't help but take a quick breath. She was trying to help him. And now she was dying.
Tessa said something quietly and Jace leaned forward to catch the one word she repeated three times. "Gem?" he thought that's what he heard. Then her body went limp. Her skin cold as ice. Her chest stopped rising and falling.
Jace's golden eyes gleamed with hate as he looked up and saw the white hair and smug grin plastered on his face. And a gun.
"Never really liked guns." Sebastian said pacing back and forth in front of the cage while Jace seathed with Tessa's dead body in his arms. "Too quick and painless. But the reactions from the witnesses." He chuckled. "Might make the stupid weapon worth using." He smiled at Jace. "Don't try anymore games little brother. You just get people killed." And he walked off.
What Sebastian didn't know was one of the cuffs was unlocked. And the other was melting off. The heavenly fire was on a rampage, Jace felt it from the hairs on his head to his fingertips and even the heel of his foot. And there was enough fire to probably burn the whole place dow-
Wait a second. Jace thought to himself with a smile. That gives me an idea.
