Mated to the supernatural kings

Chapter one

First of all, The ghost bird doesn't belong to me but to clstone, mine is the plot, hers the rest. Also, English is not my first language.

It began as a normal day, we had just eaten dinner and I was reading a book in my room, which I share with Marie, while listening to Winter by Vivaldi when I heard my parents arguing at this time of the year it was always the same topic my mother hated to get out of the house but she had to, women are forced to attend the gathering, I remember years ago, in Illinois, when I was a little kid, Mom didn't want to go and in the end men came to get her to attend.

Last year Marie attended for the first time, Mom was very angry, she didn't want neither Marie or she to attend, again men came to the house I don't know what she considered worse the gathering or stranger men in our home, at least they were human.

Marie told me that the gathering was nerve wrecking, it was the first time she saw vampires and werewolves who looked at us humans like if we were vermin. However it all changed when one of them found his mate it was a middle old woman, Marie said it was very scary, the woman tried to ran away and when he caught her he didn't let her go. In addition, she told me that the women had a daughter and how she begged the man to please bring her kid with her. I hope he did.

Marie attended the rest of monthly ceremonies which girls from 16 to 25 are forced to attend, she told me that she didn't see anymore supernaturals finding their mates.

Dad decided embarrassed due to Mom' scandal to move us to Charleston although Mom says there was another reason, I asked her what reason but she didn't told me why, she said I am too innocent. Dad had to ask permission in order to move here. Each district has a Liaison which is in contact with the Supers, our older Liaison told us that the Supers conceded our wish and when we arrived here we met our new Liaison. I don't like Liaison McCoy and Marie neither, she says he is fishy and her new friend Danielle confirmed it.

Now we live in a two bedroom grey apartment it is tiny like most human homes. I tried to make my part of the room cosy. Tomorrow is going to be the gathering, the first one I will attend. Mom told me to stay at her side all the time.

The noise has stopped. I think I will go to see if Mom is okay. I walk to my parents room without making noise and I knock the door.

"Mom, is every think okay?" I ask before entering.

Mom is inside watching TV wearing her robe when she saw me she smiled, but it was a smile that didn't reach her eyes.

" Yes, Sang you know I hate to attend these gatherings as well as bringing you and your sister to then"

I bit my bottom lip while thinking how to answer. " Don't worry, I will stay at your side all the time."

 Mom sighted, "Sang is late, why don't you go to bed, Tomorrow is going to be your first gathering and it can be pretty scary. It is best if you are rested"

I agreed with her wished good night and went back to my room, where I proceed to sleep to have a fitful sleep.

In my dreams vampires and wolves are going after me and I am running and running the fastest I can trying to get away from them and then I trip and fall behind me a big wolf is coming to kill me, then the ground began to shake like in an earthquake and I hear Sang, Sang strangely it sound like Marie, then I wake.

I look and Marie sleepy and I mumble "what Marie".

"Today is the gathering, don't you remember that we have to wake earlier to get ready"

 I look at her "Yeah, you are right. What do I have to wear?"

Marie frowns, "Sang I told this yesterday the white dress that Mom gave you last week remember"

I nod and Marie goes out of the room. She likes to wake me up so she has the bathroom first. Now we are required to wear a white dress to the wolf-vampire-human ceremony, the dress is very pretty, it has short sleeves and a puffy skirt.

While Marie showers I go to prepare breakfast since it is a big day I am going to do chocolate chip pancakes and homemade chocolate syrup, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. While I finish the pancakes Marie and Mom appears. I bet they were called by the food.

Mom looks at me and says "Sang go take a shower before eating the bathroom is free, I will prepare your plate and keep it warm while you are there"

I nod and go to the bathroom I will take a quick shower, I don't trust Marie with chocolate. Well Mom said she will kept her away.

I take a shower and dry my hair before going to the kitchen, my plate is in the oven, there is a big pile of pancakes and a cup with my homemade syrup I eat happily and wash my dish. I go to my room Marie is already there changing. I also change I look at myself in the mirror the dress is very cute. I never had such a cute dress.

Marie and I go to the living room to find Mom wearing another white dress and Dad who will take us to the gathering in his car. We go out and lock the apartment, as we go out I see a lot of women in white dresses some accompanied by men others with little children, some alone. I see Danielle and her mother, they greet us. Finally we arrive at the car and we enter, in twenty minutes we will be in the gathering. I am a bit nervous but at the end of the day I will be back in my room. I hope.
