Savannah Anderson couldn't understand as to why her life came crashing down just with a little amount of time. A day. It took a day to make her feel so helpless.

Her grandfather was rushed to the hospital after he collapsed at work. His lung cancer was getting severe each day, but the stubborn man always insist on helping his son run the bussiness. He said it make him feel better that he could help with something and forget about the cancer he had for a while.

Savannah was devastated with her grandfather's condition. She could only pray that he will get better as she visit him on the hospital every day. Watching the usually old, but strong man laying helplessly on the hospital bed.

But another bomb had thrown her way when she visited her grandfather today. With a smile on his tired face, her granfather decided to break the news to his only granddaughter.

"Savannah," his soft voice called her, immediately caught Savannah's attention who wasted no time to rush beside him.

"Grandpa? Do you need anything?" Worried was etched to her face. Studying her grandfather's figure for any indication that the old man was in pain.

Her grandfather shook his head and smiled softly. "No. But, I want to speak something with you."

The sound of door creaked open interrupting them both. Sophia, Savannah's mother came with a bag in her hand. She took a deep breath and strolling toward the two.

"Hi Dad, how are you feeling?" Savannah's mother asked, putting a few oranges to the basket on the table. Concern clear on her face.

"No pain. I am alright." He tried to reassure them.

Old age was another factor to make it worse for his condition. No one, not even any medicine can stop the aging. Eventually, all of us going to be coffin dodgers someday.

Savannah sighed, she sat down on the seat beside his bed, handing her grandfather a glass of water. Scowling at Savannah, the grandfather begrudgingly took it from her.

"Drink it," Savannah ordered with a smug smile.

Her grandfather pursed his lips together, but Savannah knew he wasn't angry. Gulping down half of the water, he handed it back to her.

"Nah now, what do you want to talk about?" She asked with curiousity. Her grandfather rarely made a specific talk like this. He would just bluntly said it it in her face. This must be something important.

Through her eyes, she could also felt the nervousness practically hanging on the air. Her mother kept glancing back and forth between the two with worry. She went to sat down beside Savannah.

"Savannah, you know that this old man's condition keeps getting worse." He hold his chest for a while then sighed.

"I don't know how long my eyes will stay open to look after my children. And you are my only granddaughter. All your cousins had already been married." He stopped to take a deep breath. Savannah felt her chest rise up and down dreading for the worst. Her mother's hand squeezed hers in attempt of reassurance.

"Before God decided to take my life, I want see my favorite grandchildren get married and live a happy life. Could you do that for me, Savannah?"

Savannah was silent for a moment. She was young, very young to get married. A twenty years old who want to still pursue her dreams.

Her mother nudged her to answer the question. Savannah looked at the her mother for a help, but her mother's eyes were pleading her not to reject the grandfather's wish.

Savannah knew that her voice will betray her, so with a little strenght she could muster, she looked at her grandfather's eyes and nodded. Giving the old man  one of her most sincere smile. She had no heart to reject her grandfather's wish.

The grandfather's face broke into a happy smile.

"Do you have a man already, Savannah?"

A man? Savannah wondered what that meant, but then, like a bucket of cold dumped into her head, she realized another problem. Who's the man she would marry? She had no boyfriend.

She had e few boyfriends in the past, but she hadn't been in relationship for year. A few names came up to her head, there were a few men who's interested in her. A certain name stood among the others.

She was about to reply when her grandfather's voice beat it into her. "You don't have a man yet? That's good. Savannah, I had promised you to one of your father's bussiness partner's son. I hope you wouldn't mind. He is a great guy. He'll treat you right."

Savannah pursed her lips together and sighed, then she gave him a small nod. She was going to marry a stranger. She hoped that her grandfather's words was right and the man was going to treat her right

"His name is Ashton Rashford. If he ever hurt you, just tell me and he'll deal with me." He joked.

Unknowingly to him, the man was going to hurt her, badly.
