I was sitting in the tree guarding her house when I got bored. I jumped down to walk around a little and sat and looked off the small cliff. Someone approached me from behind, trying to sneak up on me. "I know you're behind me," I said looking down at the broken village.

"How did..." Laurence trailed off.

"I'm not dumb Laurence. I have dealt with plenty of people who didn't trust me to know that it would be you." He sat beside me. There was a nice silence for a while.

"Why didn't you come to see her sooner?" He looked down at the village as well.

I sighed. "Long ago she asked me to find her. To help her on a journey to remember everything. but she asked me not to find her until her power was in this dimension." I smiled at the thought. "I didn't think it would take 1,000 years and a newly born Shadow Knight for that to happen." A tear fell down my cheek and landed in my lap. It was a happy tear though. I don't think Laurence noticed though because it is almost pitch black.

"What do you mean 'a newly born Shadow Knight'?" He asked me.

"Vylad. The day he died he was given a second chance by Sh- the Shadow Lord." I brushed my H/C hair behind my ear. "You wouldn't know what that's like. You were turned differently."

"How did you know I was a Shadow Knight?" He looked to me, but I kept my gaze at the sight.

"Your aura. It's light yes, but there is a slight darkness to it. An incomplete Shadow Knight." I noticed the wind slightly pick up. "I'm guessing it was because before you were turned the last person you guarded was Ir- Aphmau."

He nodded. "By a law of nature, I became her guard for guarding her last."

I sighed and smiled. "You love her don't you?" He stiffened. I chuckled. "That's not a bad thing." Out of the corner of my eye, I saw him relax. "You know just because I was her guard first doesn't mean you need to act threatened."

"What?" He looked at me with curiosity.

I looked towards him. "She wants to know what I look like," I said out of nowhere.

"Then let her know what you look like." He shrugged like it was simple.

"It's not that simple. You have to trust me first." I said, looking back out at the view.

"Why do I have to trust you first?" Laurence looked away from me.

"Because I want to show everyone what I look like at once. Everyone else trusts Aphmau's decision, but you." I heard a shuffle in a different purple tree. "Aaron I know you're up there. You can come down now."

"How did you-" I cut him off.

"I knew you were up there the moment Aphmau and I got to the top of her staircase." He jumped down from the tree and sat down on the other side of me.

"You have a really good sense of people around you," Laurence said.

"I mean... think about who you're talking to." Their faces flushed in embarrassment for forgetting who I was. I laughed. "It's fine. It happens when people get to know me."

"That's happened before?!" Laurence asked surprised.

I nodded. "Three times now."

"Why did they even get to know you?" Aaron asked. "And why were they so willing?"

I shrugged. "Two of them got to know me the disappeared. The third, however, is someone we will see soon."

"Who is that someone?" Laurence asked me. I stood up without answering. I stared out into the field below and almost screamed. I stepped back in a sudden manor, frightening the guys with me.

"What?!" they both asked at the same time.

I didn't answer.
