Author's Note: Starting this sequel off on a different foot. This part is much shorter than my usual chapters, but I wanted to give you guys a feel for the story before it fully begins. The following chapters will be longer. I also want to take the time to give a quick shout out to nite0wl29. I am a big fan of her AU Reylo works, and I suggest you check them out. They're amazing. Now - onto the good stuff! Happy reading and enjoy!

Awakening from his slumber, Ben rolled over and groaned. He had slept like shit. His legs ached from having been cramped all night in the sad excuse for a bed the Millennium Falcon housed in her crew quarters.
He had no idea what time it was, nor did he care. All he cared about right now was stretching his legs and getting a hot cup of caf from the galley.
Yawning lazily, he trekked down the hallways of the old freighter. Rumbling snores could be heard from the cockpit. Chewy was still asleep. Perhaps it was earlier than he thought if the Wookiee was still sleeping.
Entering the galley, Ben reached up into a cabinet and pulling down a chipped mug. He set it down on the counter, now moving to pull a jar towards him. He frowned at the weight of the jar, removing the lid and staring down into the dark abyss that was the empty jar of caf.
"Kriff." Ben muttered to himself. Out of caf.
He glanced towards the ramp doors briefly before turning back to the empty jar.
No. Going into the house for caf could only lead to one thing. Her. And after last night, she was the last person he wanted to see. Especially now.
Perhaps Chewy had some caf hoarded in his secret stash. Abandoning the mug, Ben walked over to the holo chess table and crouched down. He placed one hand on the cushions of the rounded bench, the other hand prying open a panel below the bench.
Ben rummaged around as he pulled out two bags of Blue Puff Cubes, a half eaten pack of gummy sarlaccs, some spicy cheese chips, and a worn copy of Space Vixens magazine.
He made a face as he shoved the contents back inside their hiding spot. He stood, looking over at the lone mug on the countertop. He sighed as he stomped over to it, snatched it up, and made his way to the ramp.

The time on the chronometer in the kitchen of his mother's apartment read 7:35. With luck, she would still be sleeping. He could get his caf and go back to the Falcon.
He made a beeline for the caf maker. He set the mug down, eagerly reaching for the heavy jar of the aromatic grounds next to the sleek machine. He filled the machine with hot water from the sink and added in two hearty scoops of caf.
The smell of the brewing caf soon alerted his presence to the other inhabitants of the apartment.
"You're up early." said the gruff voice of Luke from behind Ben. Ben didn't acknowledge him.
Luke rounded the kitchen's island counter and grabbed his own mug out of a nearby cabinet.
"Rough night?" Luke asked as he leaned back against the counter opposite the caf maker. He held his mug in both hands as he awaited the finished brew.
Ben continued to ignore his Uncle.
"You sleep okay?" Luke tried again.
"I slept on the Falcon."
"I'm aware." Luke replied.
Ben looked over his shoulder at his Uncle, lightly narrowing his eyes at him.
"The Falcons beds aren't exactly the most comfortable." Luke continued.
Ben turned his head back to the caf maker, the brewing process having been completed. He poured the drink into his mug, his Uncle hovering as he waited his turn.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Luke asked Ben.
"No." Ben said, moving to sit at the island.
Luke filled his own mug, taking time to add some milk and sugar. Luke walked back over to the island, standing across from Ben. He leaned against the counter.
"You know, when your mother put me in charge-"
"I don't need a babysitter. I'm an adult. I am perfectly capable of caring for myself while she's gone." Ben interrupted.
Luke frowned again.
"When your mother put me in charge, I promised her I would check on your well being." Luke repeated.
"I'm fine."
"Being up arguing all night and sleeping on the Falcon doesn't sound like 'fine' to me."
Ben glared across the counter at his Uncle.
"She's not happy Ben."
Ben furrowed his brows and his hand clenched into a fist around the handle of his mug.
"So she'll talk to you, but not to me?" He snapped.
Luke shook his head.
"No." He assured Ben. "I can just feel it."
Ben huffed, annoyed.
"May I give you some advice?"
"Relationship advice? From you?"
Ben snorted.
"What kind of advice can my unmarried Uncle give me?"
"More than you think." Luke said, setting his mug on the counter and folding his arms.
"I watched your mother and father fall in love. I saw the good times. And the bad times. Believe it or not, your relationships are very similar."
"How nice of you to tell me that my parents failed marriage mirrors that of my own relationship. Thanks. That makes me feel loads better." sassed Ben.
Luke frowned again.
"I'm serious Ben. You are each others equal in many ways besides the Force. Powerful light. Powerful dark. Which means she is just as stubborn and hard headed as you."
Ben frowned, not wanting to admit his Uncle was correct in his assumptions.
"She's not happy Ben." Luke repeated once more.
"You've said that. But why?"
"Maybe you need to take some time to think about the past four months." Luke said, reaching for his mug. He took a long sip as Ben contemplated his words.
"Perhaps if you figure out where things went wrong, you can find a solution."
Luke turned and walked out of the kitchen.
Ben stared down into the emptiness of his mug, his head feeling more clouded than it was when he first woke up. Frustrated, he gripped the mug angrily in one hand before letting it fly at the wall, shattering.
