It had been raining for the past week and the radar didn't say otherwise for the upcoming week as well. Saturday night was in full swing and Cat and Rin didn't want to waste it.

"Do you wanna set up the projector on the balcony and watch that new movie that just came out on Netflix?" Cat asked. Rin responded, "Totally!" with a giant smile. She grabbed the projector and the sheet from her overnight bag in the corner of the room and placed it on the table beside the door to the balcony. While this was happening Cat ran to the bathroom to get some towels to lie on seeing that it was wet from the rain earlier that day. Opening the door, Rin goes to see where they would hang the sheet.

"Hey Cat, I don't think we are going to be able to project the movie tonight."

"Why not?"

"Well . . . it's sort of raining"

"Ugh come on! It was supposed to stop around 7!" Cat says with a sigh but right then they hear a loud yelling coming from the park. Almost automatically Cat walks out onto the balcony towards the park. Rin also turns to face the park only to see small headlights flashing through the trees followed by hooting and hollering.

"That's not stopping them." Rin says with a small smile that breaks into a giggle. They stay there for a minute waiting for the headlights to come back but they don't and Cat turns back around with a sigh.

"Those are probably golf carts that some families own down the street." Cat murmurs but Rin keeps staring off into the pitch black of the park hoping to see them again.

"Oh my god, what if they were boys our age!" Rin's eyes widen with hope. "We should yell to them!"

"What?" But before Cat could say anything else Rin is leaning over the banister.

"Wahoo!" followed by a laugh. Behind her Cat runs inside laughing and Rin follows her.

Not even 5 minutes later they hear another yell from outside. Cat and Rin race of the bed and to the window. They see two golf carts racing right past their house.

"Let's go to the park." Rin says as more of a statement and less of a question.

"Are you kidding? We can't go to the park it's late and my mom won't let us." Rin frowns but then looks up into Cat's eyes with determined look. Rin's eyes meet hers with a worried expression. "Then let's sneak out"

After 20 minutes of trying different clothes they both decide on an outfit and start to make there way downstairs. They successfully make it to the kitchen when they hear a familiar voice calling from upstairs.

"Catherine? What are you guys up to?" Cat's mom yells from her bedroom at the top of the stairs. Frantically, they both make eye contact.

"Just going for a walk in the park to take photos" Cat yells back almost too soon. There is a long pause and I could sense that her mom was thinking it over in her head. Not wanting to hear her response, Cat grabs Rins arm and pulls her towards the front door.

"I have a good feeling about this" Rin says excitedly as they walk out the door and sneak down the driveway. It's around 11 o'clock so the street lights are one and not a single car is coming down the street. They cross the street to the stone wall surrounding the perimeter of the park. Almost simultaneously they find there way to a low part of the wall and jump over it.

"Let it begin!" Rin says overdramatically.

"I can't believe we are doing this" Cat yells after her. The park was dark except for a few street lamps that lined the walkways throughout the park. They decided to start towards the beach, knowing that the beach was a very popular place for teens their age to hang out. Not only is this park connected to a beach but it is also a part of an amusement park.
