Immediately recognizing her fathers Tall broad figure in the distance she ran as fast as her legs could go. Getting closer to the playground area she knew that people could see the amount of dried blood she was covered in. Not giving one single fuck she slammed into him, knocking him over. He got up and picked her up with him while hugging her tight as she started to sob into his shoulder.
While walking home he asked, " Do you know who kidnapped you, or what they looked like? Can you tell me what happened in detail?"She cried into his shirt, " No." The tears never stopped rolling down her cheeks until they arrived at her house.
As they entered the house the scenery changed, she's no longer in her dads comforting arms now she's standing in the kitchen door watching her mother fend off  this dark shadow. This shadow produces a gun and shoots her mother in the chest. As her mothers lifeless body hits the floor she can hear her own heart shatter into a million pieces. With tears threatening to spill over she look up and see the face of her mothers killer, at first she thought it was her own father, after blinking the tears away she sees Jons face. Days go by Shelly hasn't said one word since her father found her sitting on the floor with her mothers head in her lap. Suddenly he announces, "By the way we are moving so I went ahead and start packing up everything. The movers should have everything at the new house." When they get inside she noticed the old house feels so cold and lonely as if no one ever lived here. She knew her father brought her here to say her goodbyes. She remembered something on her last walk around the house. She went to her old room reached her hand in the smallest slit in the mattress and pulled out a tiny box with "Dream Big" written across it.
After her silent goodbyes she headed to her fathers car and they were off to the new house. She goes and takes a shower to relax her mind, but every time she closes her eyes small flashes of what happened appear. After giving up on the relaxing shower she pads from her own personal bathroom into her room, picks out these light gray sweats with butterflies down the side of one leg and a black sweater with Pierce the Veil on the front. Leaving her curly dark brown hair to air dry, she starts to unpack the rest of her clothes, the teddy bear her mother gave her for her 4th birthday, and the ukulele for her 7th birthday.
Unpacking the last box she hopped on her bed and played a song her mom had taught her a couple days after she bought it. Letting the tears flow she also plays a few more songs she learned her self. Couple hours someone knocks on the front door. She opens it to find her best friend since grade three, Rachel. At first she didn't recognize her until that unique smile showed up on her face, a lopsided grin that could make any boy swoon. They embrace in a really tight hug as Rachel asked, "Shelly where were you all this summer? I missed you so much and wanted to show you something I thought was really cool!"
Shelly hesitated for a bit and lied, "I was with my aunt who I haven't seen since my mom passed away." Rachel went cold for a split second as the memory of Shelly coming to class looking like a zombie. No facial expression and her eyes lost of all joy. Rachel came back to the site of Shelly crisscross apple sauce on the couch. As Rachel studies her face it looks different than last, it held confidence and determination. Rachel  joins her and they tell each other about their summer, even though everything that Shelly told Rachel is a complete lie. Shelly asked Rachel, " How do you know where I moved to by the way?"
"You moves right next to me!" Shelly runs to the window and sees Rachel's room, her dark purple walls with bright green flowers, neon yellow bed sheets on the top floor. She squeals and does her happy dance. Her dad walks in, " Well I see someones happy about the new place. Hello Rachel I'm glad to see you again." She gives him a really big smile turns to Shelly and tells her she gotta go and finish cleaning her room before her mom gets home. Waving Rachel bye she closes the door and heads to her room.
Suddenly she was running through a labyrinth of hallways. When she looks back she sees two big guys right on her heals. Trying to avoid them she makes two rights and three lefts. After the last left she slams into one of the two guys. Before she hits the ground he catches her, she looks up a this man who looks to be about6'5", light-skinned, with honey-blond hair that reaches the top of his shoulders. She's forcefully taken to a cell and chained to the wall. He said, " I told you if you tried to escape I will hurt you and your friend."
The second guy comes through a secret door holding a little girl. From the glimpse that Shelly catches the second guy looks about two inches shorter than the first. His hair is jet black with streaks of red and worn in a low ponytail, and his skin is sun-kissed with what looks like a dragon tattoo in the left shoulder. The first guy says, with a smirk, " Jon what do you have in mind with Daniela?"
The first guy grabs the little girl and starts to beat on her. Jon, the second guy joins in, but he is now holding a pocket knife. By the time they were done with the little girl she has a black eye, a busted lip, and bruises all on her arms, back, and stomach that seems to be getting darker by the second. Shelly screams and begs for them to let her friend go. Jon opens up his knife and makes a deep cut on the right side of Daniela's stomach.
Shelly wakes up screaming at the top of her lungs. Her heart is beating so fast and hard that it feels like its going to come out if her chest. She gets out of bed pads over to the bathroom wets a towel and pats herself cool.
She looks out her window just in time to see the wonderful view she has of the sunset. As she's admiring the how everything is slowly turning to gold her dad softly knocks on the door. "Sweetie dinner's ready. I've made your favorite." He sings while walking down stairs.
