Evelyn's P.O.V

I clambered up the red carpeted stairs to my bedroom as my aunty was sat on the sofa with her new best friend, wine. I reached my bed and slipped in making sure I left my night light on just in case daddy and mummy came to visit in the night. My parents worked at a bank and were killed by a bad man when they stole money from where they worked, that's all I was told. I always had the same dreams and I always looked forward to them because they replayed the happy memories of our small family moments and its all I have at the moment. I waited till I could hear the loud snores signalling that aunt was asleep and I sat up and began to speak to my parents,

"Mummy? Daddy? Can you see or hear me?" I questioned as I looked up to the sky where my aunt said they were,

"I did what you wanted me to I learnt how to swim and I can even go under water. I've also learnt how to swing on the swing set but I miss you two pushing me. I try hard not to cry cause I know you never liked me being upset or crying and it hurts to know that I may not see you again but it's hard and since I may not see you again I try not to cry especially when people at school talk horrible about you. I want to do something to help you and stop their mean comments but I'm weak and small and aunt says I'm a petite faggot who should be replaced by you and I should be in your place as I'm no good for anything. I never repeat this word to people as I feel it's not got a nice meaning but I hope you'll visit me soon and I know one day I will be able to see you again and we can play for every single day of our lives." I tried to hold the tears back but let one fall as my vision felt blurry and my eyes stung, I decided I didn't want to live like this and I will try and find my godfather, the one that isn't in prison, I heard this from my parents when they were talking in the kitchen as I went to get a drink. I grabbed my little rucksack and put some clothes in there and my pyjamas as well as a little wooden box that held memories and I photo album of my family. After I packed these I remembered how mummy always used to get me to put a coat or I'd 'catch my death' so I slipped a hooded jacked on and grabbed my rucksack and crept downstairs. As I reached the kitchen I used a stool to reach the cupboard and I grabbed a bottle of pink water that mummy used to buy me and I went over to the large fruit bowl and picked up an apple for later just in case I got hungry. I tiptoed to the living room door and looked inside to see my disgusting aunt snoring and looking knocked out on the sofa, I took the spare keys from the table and being careful not to trip or make any noise as I walked back through the minefield of empty wine bottles that stood scattered across the previous cream carpet. I walked straight out the house and locked the door behind me, I hadn't been aloud out the neighbourhood since I can remember because my mummy made it very clear it wasn't safe for me but now I had no choice.

After what seemed like forever I found a park bench that was clean nor occupied, I set my red coat, that had a crest which included a badger, snake, some sort of eagle and a strong and powerful looking lion, on the bench and struggled onto it as well as I let my long blonde hair fall behind me as I lay down to sleep. I must have been asleep for a while but now I'm awake again I feel like someone or something is watching me through the blanket of darkness with a small ray of moonlight giving off a dim glow to the park where I lay. I stood up and slipped my jacket back on, picked my rucksack up and slid myself off the bench and onto my feet. As I carried on walking up a small path until I felt someone grab my wrist from behind, as I turned around I came face to face with an evil looking woman, I took her features in and realized it was the woman mummy and daddy had described to stay away from.

"Hello Evelyn I'm mummy I'm hear to take you to daddy," she spoke. I thought she sounded rather kind, before I could process anything else she tightened her grip on my wrist and dragged me down the path into the darkness, I thought all was over until I heard someone behind us. As we both turned around there in front of us stood a old looking man who held out what looked like a fairy wand towards the woman,

"Let the child go bellatrix!" The man shouted but the woman just sneered and pulled out her own wand but the man was too quick and muttered some words as she went flying backwards and her wand flew out of her had but she took me with her, as I felt my head collide with something hard black spots took over my vision and soon everything went black.
