1 year before Jungkook.
There he was.
The fourth year boy Jin had been admiring since he got sorted into Ravenclaw during his third year at Hogwarts. He was doing his work, per usual, at the same table in the library. His brow was furrowed in concentration, and he bit his lip, scribbling something onto a piece of parchment. Jin decided today was the day.
He was actually going to talk to him.
Jin made his way to the table and quietly sat across from the boy. The thing is, Jin didn't really know his name. He's heard multiple, like Namjoon, RM, and Joon, but he wasn't sure. Yoongi told Jin to stop worrying about it, but Jin wanted - no needed - to know this boy. A few moments after he sat down, the boy slowly looked up at Jin, dropping his quill and looking at him quizzically.
"Um..."
"Kim Seokjin." Jin held out his hand. The boy smiled and shook it gently.
"Kim Namjoon."
"What are you working on?" Jin asked.
"Divination." Namjoon smiled, looking back at his paper. "Pretty odd, my personal readings have told me I was going to meet someone very special soon."
"Ah, I see. Who do you think it is?"
"You." Jin laughed, as if he wasn't hoping that Namjoon would say that.
"Shut up," said Jin, finally catching his breath to look at Namjoon's smug face. "Wait, are you serious?"
"Yes."
Jin just stared at Namjoon, shuffling through his thoughts without saying a word. Namjoon had a peculiar mind, and it was very difficult for him to read. However, he wasn't lying about the special person being Jin.
"What are you doing?"
"Reading your mind."
"You're kidding."
"Nope."
Namjoon sat back in his chair and smirked at Seokjin, who was concentrating on his face. He observed that the older boy had bleached blond hair that fell perfectly over his brow bone. His lips were full, and his eyes were the most beautiful brown. He came to the conclusion that Seokjin was the most beautiful boy he has seen in his life, suddenly snapping out of his thoughts when he realized that Seokjin had began blushing.
"I- I can explain," Namjoon started, but Jin held up his hand and smiled.
"You're not the first one to think that," said Jin. "I've heard so many people think that. Mostly girls, but every time they confess they have a crush on me, it breaks their hearts to learn that I'm gay."
Namjoon almost choked. He couldn't believe his ears, considering he had a crush on Seokjin the moment he saw him. He always went out of his way to get a glimpse of him, and his best friend, Hoseok, called him crazy for even trying. Thoroughly convinced that Seokjin was completely out of his league, he began taking shortcuts to class, but somehow Seokjin was always there. In comparison to Namjoon, Seokjin was an ethereal being.
"Maybe we could eat lunch together sometime," Jin stated, flashing Namjoon a smile. "And you can call me Jin."
"Joon. Just call me Joon," the other boy said, nodding at Jin's suggestion.
"How about... Joonie?"
"That works, too... Jinnie."

A month later, Jin decided that both Namjoon and himself should make their relationship official, since neither had asked each other out, yet still held hands and occasionally gave each other kisses on the cheek before heading off to bed. It was a calm Christmas Eve night when he decided to go through with his plan.
The Ravenclaw common room was empty and Namjoon was laying on Jin's chest, both reading a book and finishing up their assignments due next week. A fire blazed close by, illuminating the boys cuddled up on the sofa. Jin softly set down his book and began playing with Namjoon's hair.
"Joonie?"
"Yes, Jin?" Namjoon had gotten used to Jin calling him by his nickname. No one else had ever said it so sweetly. It sounded like music to Namjoon's ears, sending a wave of butterflies through him every time Jin uttered it. However, he was unprepared for what Jin said next.
"I think we should make our relationship official." Namjoon tensed up.
"Are you.. asking me to be your boyfriend?"
"Well, I suppose in a way I am. If you wouldn't mind?"
Namjoon relaxed his muscles and somehow looked back at Jin, smiling.
"Yes. I'm so glad you asked, I've been dreaming of this since my second year to be quite honest." Jin laughed and kissed Namjoon's forehead.
"I'm glad we made this official."
"Let's go get food to celebrate!" Sitting up on the sofa, Namjoon set his book on the table and gently grabbed both of Jin's hands, pulling Jin towards him. Jin laughed gently and stood up, throwing on his robes that had his prefect badge pinned to it.
"Let's go," Jin said, glancing at his watch.
The two left the common room hand in hand, making their way to the kitchens. They took secret passageways and hid behind tapestries, softly giggling each time they almost got caught. In time, they reached the kitchens, hidden by a portrait of a bowl of fruit. Jin reached up and tickled the pear, the portrait swinging open to reveal the kitchens.
Several house elves were milling around, beginning to cook for the next morning. As Jin stepped inside, he inquired about cookies, and received them upon request. He thanked the house elves and stepped back outside, handing two freshly baked chocolate chip cookies to Namjoon. The portrait closed behind them and they began making their way back to the common room while eating the cookies.
When they reached the Entrance Hall, they took each other's hands once again, admiring the bright Christmas decor that filled the large room. Jin looked around to take it all in, and suddenly felt Namjoon, who was about the same height, grab his shoulders. Without explanation, Namjoon crashed their lips together.
A billion fireworks went off in Jin's mind. The sudden shock had left adrenaline running through his veins, and he could taste the chocolate from the cookies on Namjoon's lips.
As quickly as they collided, they had parted away. Namjoon flashed Jin a smile and pointed above him.
Mistletoe.
The clock struck midnight as Namjoon grabbed Jin's hand again, making their way back to the common room. When they reached it, the couple stood at the bottom of the stairs that lead to the dormitories. Jin kissed Namjoon's cheek before heading up the stairs.
"Merry Christmas, Joonie."
"Merry Christmas, Jin."
