Choosing August (An August Alsina love story)

This book is dedicated to my nieces for wanting me to write my own story after reading so many on here!

Chapter 1:

Hi guys, my name is Jadore Spears but mostly everybody calls me Dore for short, I'm a 23 year old college student majoring in Psychology and minoring in Social work. I have a passion for kids like no other. I'm 5'2, caramel complexion, hazel eyes, curly hair mid back, with a birthmark the shape of a heart on the left side of my jaw bone. I was in a relationship with this guy Kortez for about 4 and a half years, we met my freshman year of college back in '09 needless to say we were young, fell in love too fast, and hearts got broken 😩💔 but with that being said it is what it is, I still have feelings for him but I know in my heart of hearts it could never be the same. So anyway, my best friend names are Indy(short for India) && Truth(although this bitch stay lying about stuff lol), I've known these girls since Pre K, these are my riders, they've been there through the thick and thin, good and bad, pretty and ugly lol, my niggas, my niggas! But anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself, I grew up in a small country called Optimistic, Alabama(never heard of it, my point exactly lol) it's so small everybody knows everybody, you have to be extra careful who you date because you could be talking to one of your cousins it's that small😒 I vowed to myself that once I graduated high school my girls and I were outta here and that we did, we started saving up our money our senior year of high school, and after graduation night we didn't even wait the summer we moved to Atlanta and got us a 3 bed room apt. It was pretty decked out if I do say so myself, my favorite color at the time was purple so I decided to do my room in purple, chocolate, and white. India did hers in sky blue and black and Truth went with Mint green and chocolate, we had a nice size kitchen, a living room with a 52 inch flat screen above the fire place and a huge electronic sectional in the living room, it cost us a good grip but with the money we saved up and our side jobs it def helps take care of the bills it also came with a total of two and a half bathrooms, since I had the master bed room I had the biggest bathroom in my room and Truth and Indy shared a bathroom that was in the hall and the half bathroom just consisted of a toilet and sink that was in the hall for our guest. Can you believe me getting the master bedroom came down to a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors, lol childish I know but hey, alls fair in love and RPS 😅😅 low key I still think Indy still a lil salty about me winning but oh well, we'll all be getting our own places once we graduate anyway! We were located on the 3rd floor and had the prettiest view of downtown on our patio, some nights I'd just go out there just to clear my mind, that place was def home for me when Korteze and I were going through it, it's especially pretty at night with all the street lights and stuff. It really just made me feel at ease, but anyway, so we all got accepted into CA university, where I decided to take on Psychology, Indy did Biology, && Truth did criminal justice. This was my final year of school, had to stay an extra semester because I couldn't decide if I wanted to go with Elementary Ed or psychology but obviously I made a decision lolz, so it was the beginning of August school was getting ready to start back and my girls and I were amped to be completing our last year so we decided to go out that night to celebrate making it out of the country and doing something with our lives, so in Atlanta, there's always something to do, we were gonna just go to a bar and have drinks but then Truth said she heard about this new club called Omega and it was this new artist that was finally getting his name put out there that was going to be performing so we decided to go there I think I heard of one of his songs with Trinidad James on it I luv this shit, if that's the guy then I'm down cause that's my shit lol!! I'm crazy y'all but for realz that beat sick! 😜
