"I'm sorry mom and dad. I've let you all down. I'm sorry I let this happen. This wasn't supposed to happen. It was supposed to be me. Not you. I love you guys so much. I have to go now. Goodbye." She whispered, as she sobbed and touched her family's graves one last time.
In the cab on the way to the airport, Ivy threw her phone out of the window into a trash can and sighed with relief. When she got to the airport, Ivy quickly sat down in her seat on the plane and fell asleep. Three and a half hours into the flight, she woke up from her nap and overheard someone say that it'll be raining when they land. In that moment, she realized that she forgot her mother's favorite coat at the house. Ivy then sobbed quietly until she fell asleep again.
Two hours later, the plane lands at Logan International Airport. As Ivy walks out of the airport to the bus after getting her bags, she watches the rain fall down and remembers her family's funerals. On the bus, a creepy man offers to walk her home.
"I'm meeting my parents...I'm visiting." She said nervously.
"Ah well, welcome to Nirvana." He replied with a eerie grin.
Just when she got off of the bus, she took a moment to admire the towns beauty and uniqueness. In that moment she felt her family's spirits with her and thought about those moments she shared whenever they would go on trips. After that, Ivy walked to the nearest hotel she could find. Luckily, she stumbled upon the HOME hotel. It had a lavender rustic interior but the interior was strong and periwinkle. At the time that she was just about to buy herself a room, a nosey yet sweet lady named Mrs. Winter offered her a room in her guesthouse in exchange for some help with running her Airbnb business and house sitting. Ivy immediately accepted.
Mrs. Winter's house was three stories high with 6 bedrooms and a guesthouse by the greenhouse. The guesthouse has two master bedrooms with a patio. Every thing she had was from her childhood and her adulthood. It felt like home to Ivy automatically.
"Mrs. Winter? How did you get this amazing house? All these beautiful antiques are probably worth millions! You're so lucky!"
Ivy asked intriguingly.
"Well, when I was just a girl, My family and I moved to New York from Ireland so I can pursue my dreams and become a famous singer and actress. I was in many broadway plays until the age of fifteen. My mother became ill and wanted to come here as a last vacation. She died a month later. My dad and brother stood here with some new friends, Within the next month I enrolled into the arts school a couple blocks down, my brother went into the army and my dad took off and never returned. Life without mum was harder than we expected. My guardian, who was Ms. Greene, taught me how to become a strong, independent woman. She was the mother figure I was blessed to have. When I turned eighteen, I met the love of my life in college. He was a great cook, took over his family restaurant, we fell for each other quite fast. One holiday, we came back here together and he fell in love with the town just as much as I did when I first arrived. We vowed to save all of our money and live in the very house we stayed in for that one month. So, after we went back to college and graduated; My beloved Samuel inherited sixty million dollars. He never knew his family was wealthy, even after he found out he was still so humble and generous. When I was your age we decided to get married and start a family here. It was the best decision we've ever made."
The next day Mrs. Winter and Ivy went shopping for groceries. At the farmers market, almost everyone was talking about Ivy. Since she just came from California, she was dressed differently than the locals so she definitely stood out.
"Hi, Evelyn Rose. What a beautiful day it is, isn't it?" Anne Zho, an old friend of Mrs. Winter asked.
"Hello, Anne, it is. I would like to introduce you to Ivy Gordon. She will be helping me with the house. Lord knows my days living are nearly over."
"Oh, she'll be staying in the guest house? I thought Klaus said he was going to bring a friend home?"
"Well if he does, he can sleep on the couch. Besides, Klaus is only staying for a month or two. This darling angel will be staying 'til Christmas I hope."
Ivy awkwardly stands there beside Mrs. Winter and smiles big as she is introduced to almost everyone at the market.
Back at the house, a family waited to check in and stay while their house is being rebuilt. They were the CHARMING family. David Charming owns the indoor amusement park called THE CHARMING FUNHOUSE. Their daughter Nadine, goes to a community college and their son Elliot is going to be a lawyer. When Mrs. Winter and Ivy got back, Ivy checked the family in and Nadine invited her to the amusement park on Halloween, this year they're turning it into a haunted amusement park.
Halloween night Ivy decides to go to the park a bit early just to check it out. As she walks in, she notices how oddly realistic the horrific decor and blood is. Ivy even thought she saw a ghost. That night when people started showing up, the ghastly characters of everyone's nightmares appeared everywhere you go. Since it was an old house, she easily found the bathroom which she quickly walked off to out of fear. In the bathroom, she found a dead body of a young woman covered in real and fake blood in the tub. Her skin was ripped as if she'd been cut open with knives. Ivy screamed for help and ran out. Nobody would listen, everyone had a sinister look on their faces; she couldn't tell who was acting and who wasn't. Without a phone and car she had to run to anyone hoping they'd take her seriously. Finally after an hour, she got to the police station. A handful of cops went to the house and stopped the fun. From that moment til sunrise the cops questioned everyone. Or so they thought.
