Chapter 2: Scouts

Ruby's POV:

We flew for about 10 more minutes after picking up the large snake creature which I have now com e to know as a Titanaboa, all the while I was asking questions.

Ruby: So Y/N, tell me what are these giant floating things in the air?

Y/N: The red, blue and green ones?

Ruby: Yeah, what are they?

Y/N: The books talk about them, they are called the Obelisks. There are three in total One to the north, is the blue one the one to the west is the green one and the one to the west is the red one. These Monoliths are boss stages. Put certain items into the storage port and they take you to a separate stage where you need to defeat the bosses. Defeat all the bosses and we get to leave...

Ruby: Well how many have you defeated?

Y/N: We need to defeat every single level of all 3 boss stages on every difficulty... and we've only defeated 7 out of 9...

Ruby: Well that's great! How long has it taken to get to that many?

Y/N: 5 Years...

I went quiet immediately, they've been here 5 years... I feel my breathing speed up again, they've been here for 5 YEARS! He noticed as I once again started to hyperventilate. He immediately noticed and let go of the reigns wrapping his arms around my waist and placing his chin on my shoulder. I stiffened and my breathing stopped. I looked back at him with my eyes wide open. My voice barely came out as I was internally screaming at how he was holding me.

Ruby: W-What are y-you d-doing?

Y/N: You need to relax... Everything will be alright... I promise I will protect you...

For the first time since I arrived here, I actually felt truly safe. He was just so calming and caring and kind. I started to lean back more into him and I silently cried. Everything that was happening was too much for me. And he was being so nice about it. Do I like him?

Y/N: Rest now, we're almost there, I'll wake you.

He whispered into my ear as it sent shivers down my spine. I nodded and closed my eyes feeling the wind hit my face. I had to admit flying was the best. He reached into his pack on the side of Nana and pulled something out and the putting it in the saddle pocket. I then started to hear music play as he started to sing to it.

I listen to him sing as I felt his body supporting mine. He has a really lovely voice, I know Weiss would love this. Although I don't think I want her to get anywhere close to him, the same goes for Yang, maybe Blake? Wait why am I thinking this? He's not my boyfriend... not that I'd mind though... RUBY STOP! I snapped out of my thoughts when I felt a drop in altitude. I opened my eyes to see a huge house with a greenhouse and a back garden that connects to the forest. It looked amazing, it was made out of the same ingredients as Y/N'S house. Wood and Stone. Sounds like a band name... What is with my mind today! We landed on some sort of landing strip and Y/N hopped off Nana and picked me up as well he tried to put me down but I grabbed onto him.

Y/N: You ok?

Ruby: I w-was just wondering If y-you would c-carry me...

He smiled and hoisted me up and carried me bridal style. I blushed mad like and covered my face with my hands. He just laughed.

Y/N: Cute~

I blushed harder and felt my balance go off so I instinctively wrapped my arms around his neck pulling myself up. I looked towards him seeing his face go red. The sun was setting behind him as he looked like a guardian angel. We stared into each other's eyes. His E/C orbs mixing with mine. I felt myself being pulled towards him, he looked at me and leaned down towards me. I placed my hand to the back of his head and pulled him closer. He gently placed his lips onto mine as we both fought for dominance. He tasted just like chocolate. We separated and looked at each other blushing.
